That is definately a sensor problem. If your lucky it may just be the sensor lead. Then again the sensor lead on the novak is hard wired. You need to find out whether its the motor or the esc by trying differant motor with same esc etc etc. I have had the exact same problem with a sensored esc before and it turned out to be the sensor board on the esc. Ive also had a motor with the same syptoms and that time it was the sensor plate on the motor. Or if you have rebuilt the motor recently and accidentally let the rotor snap into place that can damage the sensors.
Id love to help you out as its happened to me before :D
Hope you get it sorted for 2moro.

I'm battling with the same problem!
I too have a new Orion Vortex 100amp esc. Mostly it's ok, but every now and then the car pauses or launches at full throttle even with only part throttle on the controller. The steering seems to straighten up too I think? I've tried two motors a 6.5turn Xcelorin and a 4.5 turn Nosram and both are the same, well the 4.5's a bit worse. Both motors are also new and are ok with an Xcelorin esc in another car. I've tried two different new sensor cables too.
What confuses me is it always seems worse when the car is further away from me. I'm going to try another receiver as the one I'm using is second hand and it came to me with the antenna cable cut off at the case, not a good sign.
This is driving me mad

Another thought! The Orion esc can run sensored or sensorless motors and displays led's to show which mode it's operating in. I run sensored motors, but occasionally my esc after running for a while has shown to be running non sensored. Usually when using my older cells.
