Hi Guys,
Due to a high volume of cancellations leading to a lack of entry numbers and the threat of bad weather for tomorrow, we have taken the decision to CANCEL TOMORROW'S 2WD REGIONAL AT LEDBURY. This event will not be rescheduled due to calendar congestion and the 2wd series will now consist of just 4 rounds. I hope this is sufficient notice, can any of you who have a group of friends who you fear may not read their mails or visit oople before tomorrow please inform them that the meeting is off.
Hope to see all of you at a sunnier Kidderminster next week for 4wd rd 3.
Regards,
Tom

Tom, If it is only four rounds, how many will count?

Neil, This is still to be confirmed for definite but I believe it will remain your best 3 scores to count, I will confirm this when definite though.

In previous years when rounds have needed to be cancelled (without a rescheduled date) the championship has remained 3 rounds to count. This has been to avoid the possibility of a joint champion (ie. 2 round wins each)
Obviously Tom will be able to confirm this, as he has mentioned above.

Such a shame for the Ledbury club, 2 events and both rained out. I hope they have some other events on later in the year as I for one really like their track.

I realise that its always difficult to find reschedule dates in an already packed racing calendar (particularly for those who race various classes) which is a real shame ....... :(
Just an idea ....... how about running another 2wd round next Saturday at Kiddy before the 4wd round on Sunday .... most of the regular 10th lads are used to 2 day national meetings so I'm sure most wouldnt mind!
It is just an idea, I dont mind being shot down in flames!!!!:)

i know you really wanna race but this sort of thing has been proposed in the past and it just wouldnt work.alot of ppl work on the saturdays. and its a bin commitment to do full weekend meetings anyways. i know when i go to a national my car is packed ful and that just isnt practical for a regional meeting

Anybody thought to read the rule book?
See Rule 19.3.
If a meeting is abandoned then the number of meetings to count is reduced by 1.
So it's now 2 meetings from 4.
The rule also states that the meeting will not be rescheduled.

In my defence we are totally new to the 10th world and can only draw on our 8th experience where cancelled meetings get rearranged in 99% of cases:bored:
My suggestion was a purely selfish one as we are thoroughly enjoying our first foray into 10th even with an old xxx-cr with shocks that dont work!!! (I had bought him a B4 for this round which DOES work!) .... oh well, roll on Oswestry
Back to 8th for a few weeks now ..........:woot:

I'm in the same boat Neil, had to miss Hinckley due to things out of my control. Basically now I have to decide if to do any of the reamining 2wd rounds this year or drop them, save a couple of quid and try to make a more serious challenge in 4WD.
If I do that I'll be able to afford to come to Oswesty for the 4wd round, no way I could have justified the cost in fuel to go to Oz twice this year.

You are right, however this rule refers to the national championship, not regional championships.
As I stated initially guys, I am YET TO CONFIRM whether the ch'ship will become best 3 from 4 rounds to count, or best 2 from 4 rounds to count. Myself and the rest of the committee will be discussing this via email and I will let you know our decision as soon as possible, intended to be by the middle of next week- the solution will be the one that we feel is in the best interest of you all, and the good of the ch'ship. Currently there is no set rule in the region regarding the process following an event cancellation, in the recent past as Phil states, the ch'ship has remained best 3 from 4, but in previous years this has been reduced... I will be in touch next week, keep an eye on your inboxes and on here.

Yardee,
Pretty sure that you're incorrect on that and rule 19.3 does apply to regional events.:eh?:
Rule 19.3 does not include the word "national" and section 19 of the rules definitely includes regionals
which is why 19.1 (but not 19.3) is listed in clause 2.2 as a rule that can be varied by the region. And why 19.1 includes the term "other sanctioned events" i.e. regionals.
Apologies for the pedantic ranting.

Totally pointless question now but anybody from Ledbury want to comment on the weather on the day? I'm not far away in Cheltenham and was outside most of the day in a T-shirt working on my 1:1 cars .... only got wet on the way to the pub mid evening.
Not trying to start any discussion about if the right decission was made as I am 100% sure the event wouldn't have been called off if the team didn't belive it was unavoidable so please, just a comment on the actual weather only!!!

Roger, the decision was made based upon two factors -
1 - the predicted weather
2 - the number of racers who withdrew from the meeting, for what ever reason (see Tom's initial post).
So the weather on the day is, in some way, irrelevant.

Stuart, as I said I am 100% confident that the reasons were valid and that the decission wasn't taken lightly.
I am interested in the actual weather on the day, not necessarily for anything to do with the regional, which is now a closed issue.

Ok, what I am actually trying to do is work out how similar to Cheltenham Ledbury's weather is, they are so close as the crow flies. So far when ever I've been there it I've checked back home and it's similar give or take.
I want to try and get to the position where I can guess if the trip is worth while or not for practice when out and about so I can go home, grab my kit and rush over. I know me and if I sit my lardy butt down in front of the PC I'll be online all evening and miss the oppertunity of getting some much needed practice!!
