Hi all, Yet again i was a little bored and decided to try another variation on cars...

A while ago i used a B4 chassis and a losi xxx rear end to make a mid motor car, it worked really well IMO...

I was looking at making a slim X-6 with my carbon fibre chassis but the amount of parts id need to make wasnt really achievable with the equipment ive got...

So, I decided id do the same thing i did to my B4 all that time ago, but to use the slim carbon fibre chassis i had made by Jay

After a couple of days work and various parts tried and broken, heres what ive come up with...

Thanks, i need to get the plastic prototype bits made in carbon fibre and its all done, bit expensive though unless i do it myself but then there is the accuracy issue. Testing tomorrow though so fingers crossed!!

Well i drove the car last sunday for the first time and i have to say it went pretty well!! Very smooth and consistent. The only problem was the old brushless that i used was a bit slow so i lost out on the straight, It was brilliant through the twisty bits so i made my time back up there.. I let a fellow driver have ago and i get the impression he liked it, I just need to figure out a way to get more droop.

Now all that needs to be done is for the proto part to be made out of carbon fibre and to find more droop.

Not much changed from when i last posted on this car, just changed the rear springs from white to pink and made a battery strap instead of the tape, the battery strap is currently only plastic but will be made out of CF when i get round to it :p

Car was really good last weekend on a dusty grass track, Ill be driving it this weekend at southport to and im rather looking foward to it

Cheers, Tom

I completely forgot about yours using the cat shell and after struglling to make my own shell look decent enough someone at the club suggested a cat shell might fit...

Yeah they look ace. People were asking if it's 4wd or if it's schumacher 2wd :D Cars with these shells are bit confusing :D

Small update... I was going to race the car last weekend. Unfortunately in practice i was pushing the car very hard and driving like a numpty, i caught a jump wrong and the rear end over took the front... see pic

Ouch :p... Easily fixed, the mounting material i used was pretty poor, soon to be replaced with some carbon fibre so it wont (i hope) ever do this again
