View Full Version : LRP Sphere TC positioned behind motor. 501x.

I was wondering if anyone had any images of how they have orientated their LRP Sphere TC, when running it behind the motor; I have searched on the forum, but everyone seems to run it behind the servo. (I would rather not as I don't have a low profile servo, and it seems more logical not to run 5 wires through the centre bulkhead.) I know there must be a few people who also run it behind the motor though; even if they are a minority.

I know it's going to be a tight fit, but I can't decide which way to position the ESC.

(I'm still waiting for my ESC to arrive. But would like to see some images if there are any out there.)

I presume the best way would be to have the wiring tabs on the ESC facing towards the rear of the car, and then run the motor ABC wires so that they are soldered through the tabs from inside to out. (So that the end of the wires are at the very rear of the motor can; facing away from the pinion.) And then rotate the motor can so the tabs are faced to the front.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

I know you want to mount behind the motor but I've mounted behind the normal sized servo with no problems at all,

All the normal wires go through the front belt no problem and the power wires dont touch the belt or shell. I tried mounting mine all ways but this was the neatest and easiest way.

Got mine behing the motor....seemed the logical position to me too - no wires across bulkhead etc.

Will stick up a photo or two when i get home tonight...

looking from the side basically i have tabs almost facing tx with very short connection wires

pics will explain

By too short i take it you mean - cut to precision measurements? i just find it better that way than having wires dangling all over like some of theese Kyosho Laser drivers do....

ps have you heard those lasers are a load of rubbish?

"Shanks"...

Now have ESC... Where on earth did you place the capacitor?

I tuck capacitor between esc and battery - it's not ideal and to be honest I really need to extend capacitor wires so I can shove it on the other side
