bmax weight

I heard the bmax is quite heavy in kit form.

I was wondering how heavy this car would be with lipos.

I generally use intellect 4200 saddle pack lipos which weigh around 260grams from memory.

Just wondering if I need to order a titanium screw kit, while I order the kit at the same time.

My friend runs the car with tp 3200 saddle lipos (must be a simmilar weight to yours) the car has the titanium screws fitted and if i remember correctly it was 20g or so under weight, so really i dont see the need for it, hope this helps :)

Considering that the "team" are ballasting the back of the car to get the weight back up to NiMH levels, I would be more concerned with adding weight than shedding it.

My car weighed around 1800gms with 4200 NiMHs, that's with standard screws.

Heavy running weights do not seem to be a concern nowadays, in the not so distant past everyone was trying to get as much weight off their cars as possible, but now that power and runtimes are not an issue, the heavier cars seem to be favoured because they are less unsettled by the bumps. Xfactory drivers are recommending a running weight of about 1750gms for the 2wd X6!

Hi Guys,

When I posted the information as linked in the thread above, I was referring to the set up of my car on grass/worn grass.

When running on this sort of low grip surface it appears the car prefers to be weighted back up, when running on grass we weight the car at about 1800g.

This setting is pretty good everywhere but as posted in other threads in this section, when running on high grip tracks such as astro-turf, it is sometimes worthwhile trying the car a bit lighter and a little softer shock wise at the rear. On high grip tracks we tend to run at about 1715g, which is its base weight with Reedy 4200 lipo fitted and no added lead. We then come down in spring rates at the back to a yokomo green or pink spring- this seems more effective on high bite bumpy surfaces.
