Anyone know of any websites or stores where i could buy G10 fibreglass so i could fabricate various parts for my project?

I'd rather use fibreglass than c/f or csc as it should be cheaper and its certainly alot quicker and easier to work with. I've had a look online and there is even a glassfibre production place along the road from me but they dont sell it in sheets. :(

I had a look a while ago and the only place I found was the Leeds Model Shop. (http://www.modelshopleeds.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=136_140&osCsid=0301edb16105dd880c73f87688b71aa8)

Would love to know of anywhere else I could get it - at least would give me some sort of average price.

Thanks colmo, while i was looking on there site i seen another product in the materials section that caught my eye, wtf is that? Tufnol. A quick search later and i find out tufnol is a company and they sell glass fibre sheets in 1200mm x 1200mm sizes :0 They also sell half and quarter sized sheets which are more to our size and price requirements as i found out after a quick phone call.

Full sheet 1200mm x 1200mm x 3.0mm = £114.69
Quarter sheet 610mm x 610mm x 3.0mm = £28.67

I was told postage would be £12 and there would be vat on those prices as well so a quarter sized sheet would cost me about £46.

Price per square inch, glass fibre from tufnol = £0.04977 at 3.0mm thick.
Square inch prices from fibrelyte for comparisson, c/f = £0.53, csc = £0.32

Give them a call, which you'd have to do to order anyway.
They're really helpful.

Yeah they certainly are helpful, phoned fibrelyte today and they dont have any G10 in stock but they could make some. Although i would have to make the order worth there while as a standard sheet size for them is about 690mm x 480mm from what i remember. He couldnt give me a price for the sheet of the top of his head. He did have some fibreglass with a silver effect finish like the old silver carbon which was about the same price as the csc.

G10 material is available at www.leicomposites.com , Colour is black and Size is 510mm×610mm .

I think CF is more strong and light weighted than G10 , That 's why CF find his Market , Otherwise nobody will buy CF and he wonn't exist :lol:

Does the Customers mind green colour or not ? As most RC heli , Micro heli , Car are made of G10 or CF in black colour :)
