To save paul from the embarrasment of buying a new jconcepts shell for his B4 i sold him one of mine and painted it for him.

i think theres about 9 colours on there, I did the flames in illustrator and cut them out on the plotter, it was a bit of a mare applying them to the shell, this vinyl is really sticky stuff.. still, it turned out ok, not as nice as id hoped but nice enough.[/img]

How do you do it?

It was only the other day you bought an airbrush and now you're just 'knocking up' body shells that look that wicked! yah not right!!!

You're too clever for your own good jimmy.

mine cost me £620 second hand and a few years old. it will cut 600mm wide though.
I dont have it for making masks obviously, but it does a good job of them.
needless to say if you make the artwork any sign makers can cut if for you.. I guess the masks you can get from the likes of team orion and xxx-main would be better than mine since they are in the proper masking material and probably a lot easier to apply. Ive never used any masks like this or really seen them before, i just drew the flames with a graphics tablet straight into illustrator and cut them.
you can print your artwork onto the (back of the) vinyl and cut it by hand, would work just as well as what ive done tho might take a few minutes more

Tis on the way paul, hope you like it ! make sure to mention that under no circumstances will i paint shells for people ! :jimmeh

heres the mask i made for pauls ride btw, not much thought went into it, i had to narrow it for the shell as i drew it twice as wide as this

Nice that Jimmy.

I'm looking forward to the full 'cartoon illustration' paint job, like the oople racing buggy graphic for the forum. Now that would be special.

It gets expensive to do once you go from doing the 'odd' shell as a favour to doing it as a sideline, and ask me neighbours, compressors can be bloody noisey to...

I just dont have the time or energy to paint for cash, good luck to them who do.
