Hi all can any one share some infomation on lipos. I.ve seen some on ebay that are 2cell 7.4v 5000mah 30c. I would be using them in a losi 8t with a mamba monster combo. I'm going to be runing 2 packs. Now theas packs are cheap but are they worth the packaging. What i beleive is a lipo is a lipo they all got the same stuff inside. it's like buying a telly the inside is the same but the out side is not. Can anybody let me kow what they think of theas packs for £22.99. Cheers

If you chuck us a link I can probably say what they are like.

Are these (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/7-4v-5000mAh-30C-Lipo-2 Cell-2S-7-4-RC-Battery-AKKU-WF_W0QQitemZ250449346193QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Toys Games_RadioControlled_JN?hash=item3a4ff1be91&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C72%3A1688%7C 293%3A1%7C294%3A50

) the ones you mean?

If so, then I would steer well clear. They are just junk, frankly. There are no current ratings, we aren't told if the 30C is continuous, burst or just a fairy tale. I wouldn't trust them at all.

Also, a lipo is not always a lipo (bear with me) in the same way that a Mikomi TV is not the same as a Sony or a Panasonic inside. They all come from different manufacturers and are therefore all made in slightly different ways with different quality materials and workmanship.

Seriously, don't buy these because they are cheap. As the old saying goes 'if it looks too good to be true, then it usually is'. Invest in better quality Lipos - especially for 1/8 Brushless, where the current draw and stress on batteries is high. Devote a bit more money towards the batteries, even if it means waiting a few months.

Thanks for that info! I will have to incress my budjet! lol!! Are the Turnigy 5000mAh any better. Might just stick with my first choice demon power packs as i have used them before and they were good enough for me in a TC and B4.

Turnigy are ok (though the name is a little too close to turgid...)- take a look at Hobbycity's site to see some of their true 4S packs, the 30C ones are actually quite good as a budget option - they are also known as Zippy Lipos - check here (http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/) for testimonials.

Even so, I would go further and go for a well known brand with (most importantly) cell quality you can trust.
