This has probably been asked before, but when's the north west going to start running 4wd regionals? (again?, ever?)

I know there's plenty of 4wd cars at Bury nearly every week and I bet the same must be true at southport?

Id love to cheer my wife up and tell her im busy sat and sundays :o

The first Southport outdoor meeting is this Sunday. I think the setting up of a 4wd class is dependant on the amount of 4wd cars turning up. Over the indoor races, there has been a pretty good showing of 4wd so the signs are good for their own class in the summer. I guess the only way to get a 4wd class going is to turn up with your 4wd and boost the numbers.;)

Nice One,

I think it would be a good idea to start both 2wd and 4wd in the North West would save some people travelling to do NE 4wd Regionals.

Currently there has not been enough interest in 4wd to make a series for it. If enough people put their name forward who gurantee they'd attend the class, then possibly somthing can be done about it.

However i have noticed more drivers picking up 4wd's this winter, but if names were put forth then somthing can be done about it.

Mike, you'll have to get 4wd so I can lap you with that too :D

I'll ask about at bury this weekend if people arent reading the forums, see if a rough number of possibly/maybes are interested for 2008.

Perhaps a booking in system like the NE would give an idea of numbers. And if not enough people book in then forget about it and carry on just 2wd

If people want to run a heat or more of 4wd at the regionals they are entirely OK to do so. About 4 years ago we did run a 4wd series, I think just 4 drivers completed 4 rounds and were therefore entitled to claim their respective liscence grades (allthough I don't think any actually used this advantage for national application ect.).

On the subject of NW regionals the dates that have been in circution for some time are correct, however there will be some venue changes batween Bury & Southport due to a clash with another event at Southport's venue.

Watch this space.....

Here's a topic to argue...

If there are few entries and F2 becomes attainable by some otherwise F4-5 drivers, should the BRCA rule (AGM October 2007) that there should be a minimum number of drivers entering enough counting rounds otherwise only F3 is the highest grade.

OR

Continue unchanged, and keep the doors open for those who recognise the oportunity for F2. If anyone is against this, I suggest you enter that class and fill the entries.... ;)

The dates that were set some time back are,

April 29th
May 27th
June 24th
July 8th
July 22nd
August 19th

The original series has Southport down at August 19, but that date clashes with the flower show so we need to re-arrange the venues.
We need to keep the dates as is though.

That looks fine to me Paul.

Please can someone from Bury Club confirm the dates are OK for their meetings. Im sure there will not be a problem but best be 100% sure.

NW 2wd for me I think, I'll be doing 5 of the 6 as far as I can see.

As long as it is 4 out of 6 to qualify then I suppose it saves a long drive to Durham!

I will speak with you over a few pints at the weekend then!;)
