I was wondering who is best to talk to about anodising rc car parts? I know AE Ben was talking about doing some batchs but not heard alot since?
There are some cool looking Mi4 touring cars on rctech.net page 37 that have been done and look quite cool, well for a TC anyway!
Any links to firms that do it would be great.

Pah - Anodising is soooo last year. I nickel plate (http://www.modelmakingsupplies.co.uk/taps---dies.htm) instead.........
It says for steel - but in fact you can plate Aluminium, you just need to add a layer of copper or zinc first. And I know this for a good reason. I designed that kit......

Nickel plating can look good, especially on pre-polished components, but it's not always as durable as anodising. There are quite a few commercial anodising companies around, be warned though - due to environmental laws, cost of electricity etc some can be expensive. Anodising gets cheap if you have a decent batch of work to put through.

Griff,
What kinda prices did you used to pay to anodise your stuff, such as your S2 etc?

Hehe...oh well...it wouldn't surprise me if you did turn up at club with one though, I've seen you staring longingly at Bill's :p
On topic though, it'd be good to find a friendly anodiser, it's definately cheaper to get stuff done on mass, and paying full commercial prices could be painful for a bit of bling!

Cheers for the links guys, it would be interesting to see the cost of it? I was thinking of doing the Cat SX a different colour.
