Mini spike (not slim)

Other than looking like tractor tyres, Whats the advantages / disadvantages of using normal front mini spikes rather than the slim mini spikes we usually use.

The "normal" spikes are for 4WD fronts. I think they go onto 2WD wheels, but the point of contact with the floor would be wrong due to them being compressed to fit narrow wheels. Or I could be talking crap

2wd and 4wd rims are same width on losi's anyway
