Im having problems with my 501x we 18t center pulleys(53989), i have replaced the center pulley 3 times the last 1 and a half month. The inner pulley that goes on the rear belt is melting, could it be that my slipper is set to tight? or that my rear belt is to tight?
Does anyone have any experience with the alu 18t center one-way (54051)?
It looks much stronger then the original plastic pulleys!

if you are damaging the pulleys, they you are either running the belts too loose or too tight, and have a damamged belt. You may want to invest in the eccentric belt guides, that allow a bearing to stop the belt skipping on the pulley.

I have run the same pulleys and diff's in my DB01 for the last 18 months, no issue, and they are the same part numbers.

You need to keep the rear belt somewhat loose. Having that belt tight, will quickly destroy that center pulley and the teeth on your rear belt. I cannot remember the belt tension setting in the manual, but refer to that and loosen the belt by one notch or two on the plastic tensioners on each side of the diff.

I have a habit of nearly locking my slipper only due to I run my 511 (and previous 501s) on a high traction surface, but you want to allow the slipper to do it's job a little bit.

If the centre pulley is melting it's with heat from your slipper, so it's too loose, regardless of wether the rear belt is too tight or too slack this will not 'melt' the pulley.

Thanks for the help guys, will set up my slipper tighter when i get the new parts. If i remember correctly i have the rear belt setting 1or2 steps looser then the manual instructions. My car came with the eccentric belt tensioners so my belt dont slip on the center pulley.

Anyone tryed the alu one way center pulley (54051)?
I read someplace that it will give ur car more aggressive braking, correct?
What else does it do?

In theory the one way centre pulley will give you more steering turn in, as does a one way diff, if you use either of these you will have less brakes as you will only brake on the rear wheels, as for what it does: when you lift off the throttle it allows the front wheels to spin freely until you hit the throttle again, I.E it only works one way on the centre pulley, but the front driveshafts are still connected by the diff, a one way diff is different as it allows the front wheels to spin freely independently off power, but on power it drives both wheels at the same speed and has no differential action like a ball diff does, hope this helps;)
