Any one here have the new orion brushless motor? I'm ording an orion vortex 5.5 for my 4wd and a lrp sphere comp. (2007 ed.) Do i need to also order a sensor cable for this? does it come with one? Do i need one to run the motor? what do i need it for exactly? This will be my first brushless motor sry for some probably obvious questions.
any imput would be helpfull

Would think the sensor cable should come with the motor, they come with the lrp/nosram motors.

As far as i am aware they are not legal. I remeber looking through the list and it doesnt seem to be on there. But it may just be me i cant find the list now carl lathem found it for me. Dont take my word for certain but im 99% sure there not legal for 2007.

yea im still too new too rc to be in anything like the nats lol. :D
but i have been looking aroudn and can't find anything if it comes with it. I do know that some time in June, Orion is relaeasing a set of 3 different size sensor cables, to suit different needs.

Yea thats what i would think but I havn't seen any info or pics to show that it comes with it like the lrp/nosram motors.
I already ordered a vortex 5.5 from Orion for my 4wd. I guess i'll see when it gets here. If i need to buy one seperatley so be it, I like the quality of Orion motors.

Hi, yes you will need to buy the sensor cable. I have just taken delivery of the Sphere TC Spec and Vortex 5.5 - and no sensor cable in either box.

Hope this helps.

Are you in the UK as I dindn't think they (Peak or Orion bushless motors) were availble yet?
If you are in the UK where did you get them from?

Orion ones have been available for at least a few weeks. They are on BRCA list - but don't come with sensor lead - unlike Novak and LRP/Nosram

no disrespect to microtech, but you're having a laugh Ash! If it's on backorder then it's not in the U.K. so it's got to get here, then to microtech, then to you all in 6 postage days...

Yea the question though is who do I order a sensor lead from since the Orion sensor cables don't come out until early June.
Or do i not need one for the moment

trekkkerk is running one of these motors on a matrix evo and has found it to be awsome with nice power delivery. you will need to order a seperate sensor wire as the motor doesn't come with one so bear that in mind. you can get one from your local hobby store and i know trekkkerk is using a standard nosram one without any probs as they are available seperate at a low cost do you need any part numbers or gearing advise, ifso i shall ask him

Mine didn't come with any sensor wires just to confirm whats been said already. I think sensor wires are all one style aren't they? I used a novak one and it worked.

The motor felt awesome in my BJ4 (5.5) at tiverton, can't wait to run it on a grippy track to really see how fast they are!

the sensor wire connector is a common design through out rc (novak lrp nosram orion etcetc) and are all interchangable

i run novak with nosram currently

sensor wires are available from almost any model shop!
