I am after a Rtr truck for bashing about outside, mostly on tarmac and gravel. There are so many out there now.
I have narrowed it down to the following

Losi Short course
Associated Sc10
Losi desert truck
Losi Speed T.

At the moment I am leaning towards the speed T, as it comes well equipped for what it costs- probably the quickest of the bunch too.

It will be running lipos.
I do not want to go mad money wise as this will eat into the 'I need a Durango' budget:lol:

Get a maverick strada xt they are cheap and bullet proof. Trust me. I had an ansmann x pro that broke every time i used it but the maverick just wont die!!! Its worth a look.

I'd go for the E-Firestorm Flux. They are stronger than the Speed-T, and more versatile, they will go off road and do it well! The Speed-T has shortened shocks, so for real off-road use, these will need changing.

The E-Firestrom Flux is almost as quick as the Speed T too, and uses Castle Creations electronics (a Sidewinder and a 5700kV motor), which are proven reliable and tough. The Losi electrics (an Xcelorin) can be a bit temperamental.

I have a Desert Truck and it's pretty tough.
The SpeedT and DT are the same basic truck apart from the electrics and the diffs (geared in the DT - no diff in the SpeedT).

Right now I'd be tempted to go with the Losi SC or the SC10 - mainly as you racing these seems to be catching on which

Although Marvin makes a good point!

I've got a Losi Desert Truck and new Strike SCT. For general hacking around, I'd say get the Desert Truck. It's quicker off the mark and rides the bumps really well. In many ways it's better than the Strike, although I like both. Anyone else got a Strike and find it a bit slow (relatively speaking)?

Still liking the speed T. Brushless, lipo compatible for 190 quid. The Sc10s look cool but am concerned that i would want to upgrade esc and motor soonish. The Desert and Speed T are value for money.

Never had any issues with mine. seems to be the older ones that suffered.

Agree with marvin the firestorm flux is a great bit of kit and the electrics set up gives you plenty of speed...there's also the new hpi blitz short course truck due out later this month...

If it's on a budget though Paul mentions the maverick range also from hpi which is excellent value, they have also just launched a 4wd short course truck too

Do you remember what version of the firmware it was running?
It might have been sat in the shop for a while.

Either way, your bad experience does not make all losi speedo's bad. I've fried several LRP Q2's in my time, but they're still great speedo's.

Im with Paulmay, strada for under 100quid gives you maybe enough money to stick a stupidly powerful brushless system in it. But yeh, refuses to die, the maverick micro stuff is the same.
