Got my new GTB today, they now come with LiPo cutoff facility built into the speedo. More details available on the novak site www.teamnovak.com
You can tell the difference as the new ones have a sticker on the box to say you have the LiPo version, like this;

Is that the new Spektrum version Dan ?
Hey guys,
I have seen the spektrum version, wondered why they have made it. I have the first GTB 4.5 system running with spektrum and have not had any trouble.:wtf:
If anyone knows why please let me know.

Hey Dan,
Thanks for that.
I found out some interesting facts about the Latest GTB 3.5 combo, when they thermal they dont cutout like the 4.5 setup, the thermal protection on a GTB 3.5 setup works by just limiting the throttle output back to 25% or so. I found this out when a guy came to the track with a Tamiya DF-03 Impact and the 3.5 setup with stock gearing, it went into thermal mode after 2 minutes.:)

I'm surprised the gearbox lastest 2 minutes, you sure it wasn't that ;)

Though the first 2 minutes that DF-03 raced was probably the first time marshels refused to marshel at the end of the straight :)

I beleive that is what happens when the brushless motors overheat. They go into some sort of "limp" mode.
The speedo used in all Novak systems is the same GTB, when the speedo overheats it shuts down motor power altogether.
