As I've booked into Petit with a friend over the weekend I thought I'd pose the question of what are your running?

Myself at the moment

2WD - XXCR (unless I get a B4 for the event)
4WD - Cat SX :)

I'm not sure if racing is the correct terminology, but I will be in attendance attempting to get my X6 and X11-08 around the track.

I have a long and proud history of being last qualifier at events such as these and I am hoping to carry on that tradition.

And that's why I have entered. Spent lots of money on a hobby I love and it's time I get beaten elsewhere! Only ever raced at Titchfield (well I don't count a trip to a Tony Evoka event 16 years ago or so with my Cougar 2000)

Now there's a challenge! The race for last place is ON!

Cool.

(Thinks long and hard about the XXCR now... )

If I get stuck with setup on my Cat SX I'll ask for help.. Losi XXCR mmm that'll be a bit more difficult

I'm looking forward to seeing different machinery such as Predator, X5 & Durangos etc.

So petit produces lots of breakages?

that puts me off running a xxcr

can't say why Kev was down there, think he'd just had a bad day.
it happens

as for broken bits the track wasn't necessarily a car breaker & there's no reason to think this years track will be!
i broke my car trying to do the impossible & stuck it hard into a brick wall

other than that we had no probs at all

WUSS. 7.5?????

5.5 is the only way to go in 2wd.

thinking about it, there-in could be the reason for so many last places!

Welshy, I will come and introduce myself, it will be fun to see a bodyshell painted up with my mother-in-law's portrait!!

I am really looking forward to this event now. Where is everybody staying?

Think I'll stick with my 7.5! ;)

The cars go nicely with the 7.5s

Got an offer of someones floor (DC's), but comfort in the hotel seems tempting at the moment. The one on Petit's site.

LOL ... is that low tire wear because your wheels are always off the bround 'big-air' :p

Cheers, so 2 sets per car so 4 sets in total ... ok, I think I have 2 new sets and 2 sets with only 1 or 2 runs on in the box which would be fine for practice / working out where is the most spectacular to crash :woot:

Cool ... quick chat to the boss then I'll be booking in!

Now running a B4 in 2WD and will be ordering various tyres shortly.. Thankfully we running mini pins in the wet at Titchfield so they'll get used.

I assume ballistic buggy mini pins will be too much grip.

Not really, they'll just be crap and wear out really quick.

I'm sure I used 1 set all day in 2wd last year (not making the A) and 2 sets in 4wd where I did make the A(s).

Cheers,

I'll be doing an order for mini pins fairly soon.. Prob go for two sets for both classes just in case. I'll use them elsewhere anyway.

To save costs I may get the pre glued combo from Schumacher for the Cat SX, but not sure if the foams are right

Going to get some Jconcepts wheels for the B4 :)
