Thunder Road Racing Track

Thunder Road Raceway was opened last year on the Romney Marsh area of South Kent. During the year I was asked to run the track for the owner. During the Winter I formed a club, Thunder Road Model Car Club, and we re-vamped the track, extending it to approx 370ms. The back straights are 8ms wide and the rest varies from 7ms to 5ms. Work will be continuing throughout this year, with some additions and astroturf covering all jumps. We run mainly 1/8th nitro, all clsses, but some youngsters have joined with 1/10th nitros (Youngsters are the future, so they are more than welcome). Our season opened on the 22 April 2007 with a 'Grand Re-opening Race Day' which saw drivers coming from local areas as well as Essex, Sussex and South London.
