Little late!!

I'll be trying to race my SC10 tomorrow, first time out with 2wd and electricity so it should be interesting!!

More the merrier, hoping to grow this class at CMCC meetings!!

A shortened track has been cleared of Snow at Coventry, and some racing is planned to go ahead tomorrow (10th Jan).

Anything under 1/8th scale is welcome, and that of course includes SC trucks :)

There should be 3 SC10's a couple of Slashes and a Maverick (4wd I know) in attendance so that should be a heat ;)

Roads to and from the track are clear at the moment.

Sorry for the late notice!!

Gates open at around 8am, racing should be underway at around 9...

Not this weekend but...

14th Feb Mini MAM is open for pre booking here (http://cmcc.phpbbhosts.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=38)

Also open to *anything* smaller than 1/8th, won't be the busiest meeting in the world, but if you fancy a bit of a chilled Sunday morning racing...

I also hope to be able to get a heat of Short Course as a guest class in the next Electric MAM at Coventry on the 28th Feb.

Last time out we had 5 trucks racing, I am hoping for more on this Sunday coming (7 or 8).

It's a start anyway and *just* enough for a heat of our own...Hopefully we can pull a couple more drivers into the fray with this thread, for Feb 28th getting 10 Trucks on track would be fantastic!!

Definatly not this weekend, in fact not any weekend soon, but worthy of a post...

Midlands Dirt Masters (http://www.s-m-d.co.uk/midlands-dirt-masters-c100205.html)

Predomiatly a 1/8th nitro meeting, but there will be a SCT class 'if numbers allow'! :woot: I've already run my SC10 round CMCC's dirt track during and straight after the latest build, it's a hoot :)

The CMCC Dirt Track (http://coventrymodelcarclub.club.officelive.com/Thetrack.aspx)

Construction picks and a little video of one of our juniors running round the track  Note that the layout has changed a bit, from last year making it a bit more 10th friendly.

The next race at Coventry will be the Midlands Dirt Masters Warm Up on 16th May predominantly a 1/8th race but Short Course Trucks are welcome! :)

We are looking to run 5 or 6 minute heats with 8 to 10 minute finals for the Short Course Truck heat, which for the race is expected to be run on the dirt track for this race. I've found proline Caliber in M2 compound to work pretty well on my SC10, they will also last a while (mine have around 2 hours of use so far).

4wd and 2wd trucks will be run together for the time being...

Pre booking for this race can be done by the CMCC forum (http://cmcc.phpbbhosts.co.uk/index.php) or alternatively you can send me PM and I'll get it sorted for you.

Short Clip from Sundays racing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOejbrmxOb4&feature=related) shot by one of the club members, from the end of the main straight.

It's a big track with that number of trucks going round! Can you spot the 4wd :eh?:

My apologies for the timing issues suffered in the SCT heat! New computer and a new class on the dirt where the cause, it's all be sorted out now (which was kinda the point in the meeting).

Track was really slick to start but the grip came up throughout the day, the wind also dropped making the jumps a lot easier!

So we now know that a half decent lap is around 45 to 46 seconds for a 2wd truck with 7 lap run being attainable in qualifying. On the day we ran two 7 minute finals, which worked out pretty well...I think a third leg is really needed ;)

I picked up some interesting feedback from some of the drivers on the day, which I will try and implement for the next meeting

Talking of which our next race is a charity meeting on the 30th May

post code for baginton is CV8 3AL, we are next to Coventry Airport.
short course body, wheels and a 10.5 motor limit but we are flexible as there are no set rules as yet with this being a new class.

30th May is basically a club meeting, with all the proceeds going to charity (Myton Hospice if memory serves).

As always gates open around 7:30am, booking in from eight ish, drivers briefing around 8:45, with racing starting around 9!

Entry is £10 to non members, £5 for members, Booking in is on the day. Any classes are welcome, up to 1/8th scale. 10th buggy would be run on either the grass or Astro track if enough people turn up!

race format should be 4 rounds of qualifying with a two legged 7 or 8 minute final for tenths

Not sure on numbers for the SCT heat as yet, I'd hope for 6 - 8 Fair warning that you may need to marshal 1/8th scale Nitro cars if we do not have 2 heats of electrics :(

There is also a raffle, with RC related prizes.

A few piccy's from Sunday (http://s805.photobucket.com/albums/yy333/andysav1/Coventry%20Club%20Meeting%20SC%20300510/)

Phone cam, from the second final I believe!! Far to many blue trucks with yellow bonnets on the track, It was hard to tell who was who at times

Good days racing, sorry we didn't get to actually race on the dirt track, but it would have been a nightmare with only six marshals!

Lots of good information gained, particularly on tyres for grass and maybe astro :)

Next race at Coventry is the Midlands Dirt Masters on 13th June, I believe there are just 4 places left in the short course heat!

Next meeting at Coventry is on August 15th!!

The usual 4 rounds of 5 minute heats, with at least one final of 7 minutes or more for SCT :) Track is TBC...Hoping for enough to run on the dirt. Please note you may be required to marshal 1/8th Nitro races :bored:

1/10th Buggy more than welcome also :)
