Hi

i have a problem with the center shaft being a little too wobbly for my liking... wobbles for like 3mm and touches the servo ears.

i have put about 1mm fuel tube (o-ring) on either end of the shaft to keep it snug and cushioned.

i thought my centre shaft may of been bent so i changed the shaft to new one. also have changed the large bearing on the spur.

i have a center one way and front diff setup.

it looks like the play is coming from the centre one way. it wobbles a bit too much

any ideas?

Hey,

Check that your front diff pinion is sitting correctly on the shaft, if it is then its most likely a worn one way or worn diff pinion bearings.

hope this helps,

I agree, dodgy one way bearing, or my other favourite bent rear layshaft.

Take the whole transmission apart.

If you roll the rear layshaft on a true surface you will see if it is bent same should be done with the front shaft as well

Also check the front drive bevel shaft (LA-202). A guy on rctech.net bent his somehow after a particularly hard nose landing and he had the same symptoms you had. Swapped it out and all was good.

stock up on a few la202's they are made of aluminium and are real weak... and real hard to diagnose they are bent. roll it on a flat table and its still straight.

should of been made out of steel like the rear one is.

when it wobbles, makes your car handle like crap especially with a center one way, will make the car spin out half way thru a corner, off power.

also i noticed on mine that the front plastic hex that the oneway bearing sits in isnt great at being square so try rotating the bearing in that as this will often pull the centre shaft back straight as well ;)
