Guy's, can someone tell me whether sintered rotors are now legal? I was told at club they werent legal for BRCA events but I looked in the BRCA handbook Electric Board section and they say they are legal from 02.04.07... Which is it?

Cheers,

Sintered motors are legal, just check the BRCA list on www.brca.org (http://www.brca.org).

As for replacing the rotor in a brushless motor, you can only replace with the style that come out of it. So unless it's phyically broken, there's no reason to replace it.

Hi Phil,

Thanks for posting me back.

I can't see the rule about not replacing a bonded rotor with a sintered rotor anywhere on the BRCA web-site. Why do you think this rule exists and what purpose does it have?

Hi,
Look up EB / Electric Board on BRCA.org and the motor list is within.

To be honest, the vast majority of commercially available brushless motors are legal now. Its worth printing the list and keeping with you if you think that you may get some doubt from a fellow racer/race controller etc..
