Hi guys,

I m new, and i buy a Dex410 2weeks ago.

Currently i build the car but i have a few problems.

The first : when i put the front diff on his case, i have a cracking when i turn the transmission.

I dont know where come from this problem.
If i remove the front diff from the case, the diff can be turn without problem.

Any one can help me ?

The rear diff dosen't problem.

Thanks !!

actually, my problem isn't with the diff, is when i put the diff in the front case with the CVD.

When i turn the CVD, the diff block. Feel like if a part block the case.

And the front transmission dont work free like the rear.

Sorry, i dont speak english fluently so... it's hard to explain hehe.

Try putting the diff in the case without the CVD to see if that spins freely. If that spins free then it cant be blocking on the case.

Then put the CVD in without the diff to see if anything is catching there.

If both of these individually spin free then it must be how your meshing them together. Check all the teeth on your gears are ok and there is nothing stuck between them.

Hard to know exactly what the problem is without looking.

see page 18

is the gap between the bearings correct?

assemble without doing up the grub screw and then see if it's free

if it is open the case up and do up the grub screw

Try resting the diff in one half of the case to see if it spins free then do the same with the other half.

If the diff is spinning free in each half then it has to be something to do with when you put them together.

Make sure the bearings are sitting correctly in the slots on the diff case. Also check the shims that go behind the bearings are pushed all the way down. i think the shims are very slightly different sizes on each side so make sure they are the correct way round.

well i tried to open the diff and check if all spin free.

Yes :(

If i try to put the diff in the case with the gear on the left, the transmission work free.

If i put the gear same as manual, the transmission grip and dosen't spin free.

I m little bit lost lol

compare the rear diff against the front to see if you spot something you have done wrong or an issue with a moulding

have you tried putting the rear diff in the diff case that is giving you a problem?

post some pics if you can

Im a little lost aswell as its not possible to put the diff in the case the other way around as the case is much larger on one side to allow for the gear to fit

As mentioned above if your rear diff is working fine then take it apart to see if you can spot any differences between front and rear.

well finaly i solved my problem.

The problem come from the method how i screwed the CVD'screw on the axle of the gear.

This axle haved a little play and push on the gear and made a unfree transmission because the space under the tooth are modified.

Thanks a lot guys!!

Thought it might have been something to do with how the gears were meshed.

Glad youve got it sorted
