grub screw tap size

I was wondering what methods people use to remove the old loctite from where the grub screws were.

I at first ran the grub screw in and out a few times, but does anyone know the size of a 'tap', which would be the best way to cut through the old loctite?

Would nail polish remover work the same way as removing glued tyres from wheels, try a small drop first then run the grub screw through again.

i usually put the grub screw on the allen wrench and spray with some motor cleaner and use a small wire brush. works very well.

yeh I know the grub screws are identified as m3, cos I bought some M3*3 grub screws, which means Metric 3, 3mm long.

But isnt most of the durango chassis screws M3 as well? M3x6, M3x10 etc?

I'm still finding it hard to understand that the M3 is the same as the grub screws, because the grub screws are very skinny in comparison to the other M3 countersunk/socket head screws.

A M3 tap just seems way too thick.

Imperial threaded grub screws like all the Americans use aren't M3:woot:

If your unsure about using a tap look up the solvent for the type of loctite you used here

but the durango is metric, and the grub screws are M3, but a M3 tap is like twice the diamater as whats needed.

bit confusing

I guess I will run the grub screw in/out multiple times with acetone or something similar.
