UK importers CML aren't necessarily the Southern Ireland wholesalers as well (Although, equally they might be for all I know)

Oh dear :( .... was worth trying him. Make sure to keep you orders below 250 euro as that's the threshold before you pay duty and VAT.

And if you end up paying these it would be cheaper to buy a car from Mick B.

towerhobbies have a few b4.1 brushless rtr's in stock. It would work out at $290 inc delivery (€218) PLUS any additional charges, import tax etc.

i got an email from podiumrc.co.uk (where i've pre-ordered from) and they said that they'll have them early-mid april. They charged €250 inc delivery.

Should i cancel my order with podiumrc and order with towerhobbies, or would the taxes/charges be too much??

edit: just spoke to customs and they said there'd be a 2.7% charge plus 21% vat. that would bring the total to €270 (if ordering from towerhobbies). i willing to pay the extra €20, so should i do it?!?

that's right, your mate should have been charged €292.

Your Mate:
Cost: €235.00
Charge: € 6.35 (2.7%)
VAT: € 50.68 (21%)
TOTAL: €292.03

B4.1 RTR:
Cost: €218.00
Charge: € 5.89
VAT: € 47.01
TOTAL: €270.90

Watcha think???

Hi guys,

PodiumRC are generally ok, but they do list an huge amount of stuff that they don't actually stock. As Mick B is an Associated dealer who is supplied directly fom the UK distributor, the fastest method of getting the car would be through him and I'm sure his price is competitive all things considered.

so what's peoples final verdict then, should i just cancel my order with podiumrc and wait for mick to get them, or place an order with towerhobbies??

my only reason for possibly ordering from towerhobbies, is that the uk prob won't be sent stock for a few weeks, and therefore podiumrc and mick won't have them for a while!

6 of one, half a dozen of the other.
Bet you if your ordered one from Mick and one from Tower that they would arrive at the same time.

The manufacturer will ship out a pallet of kits to their distributors at a time, so the delay in getting to the UK will only be the extra freight time.
