Racing this Sunday as normal if the weather holds. It is looking like a very cold one.

Laptop issues I hope to have resolved and last week was the first time we'd had an issue.

Just need this rubbish winter to depart for spring and summer!

If I'm racing it'll be Cat SX as B4 has been partly stripped.

I'm in weather permitting, D4 was great last weekend, just need more talent and then i might split those Brown boys ;)

Mmm I think the only people that will split those boys are better drivers  that come in from elsewhere. They are way above the rest of us :(

Dan will be running brushless shortly! He's still running a brushed motor etc! he also shows how great the ZX5 and XX4 still is.. He has a 6.5 waiting in the wings

Remember when the dry comes they're just going to be further ahead of the rest of us... Oh and Steve got 13 laps in that greasy wet stuff last weekend

I'll bet he breaks a 15 this summer with 4WD! Roll on the great weather so I can drive the XXCR and get my Cougar SV here along with the SX2 :D

It is great seeing them race against each other.

If there are the same numbers of 2wd as last week is it possible to have 2 2wd heats as the rostrum is a bit crowded. I know we are pushed for time as someone mentioned we were running late last week, and we had very little time for car maintenance or set up changes but perhaps we could start earlier.

I did wonder about spilting the heats and will be doing that in future if there are 10.

I'll be making sure the laptop doesn't mess up this week...

Don't think we'll have the same numbers as last week for 2WD. As the weather gets better it'll certainly be the case.

I'm quite happy to start at 08:30 to get more heats in or slow things down etc.

I to would like to slow the pace a little, you need time to fix breakages or make setup changes.
Is there any more news on a full days racing, I for sure would love this to happen and i know it will bring new faces to the track.
Also want to see a bit more structure to all race meetings, IE; proper qualifying and perhaps a 3 leg final, if you understand me :D.
I'm not having a dig, I just want the club to grow and see this as the stumbling block for the more hardcore racers out there.

Were are looking at this, but we also need numbers up in order to get more heats for qualifying.

I'll be talking with the other commitee members about a AGM

I'm afraid i won't be there this week (sorry Cammers - Good luck with your X-6 tho). I'll be back on the 21st and maybe 4wd.

Sunday the weather is looking cold, but sunny. So fingers crossed

With the numbers last week I'd like to mix it with the 2WD, but that prob won't be until my Cougar SV turns up. B4 motor and servo have come out so it'll be Cat SX again this weekend

Tony, we plan to test the water with a all day meeting, 9am to 4pm, this will give direction and sustainabitliy for future repeats. However based on feedback from you the members will dictate future success. Format is key, but what USP will others come and play. I feel a little more work on the track and facilities will secure a future more all day meetings.

We will propose a date once all other National/Regional Meets are confirmed and ask the members for their support.

As Steve has mentioned I'm keeping an eye on dates and am adding them a spreadsheet so we try not to clash. I'm only taking into account 1/10th off road unless someone says something, but it'll be hard not to clash with something if you include all the other classes of racing.

I asure you Steve, Julian and myself will do our best :)

I have run diags on the laptop and it all looks ok. However I have one rule coming into play for those that may help with the computer. Under no circumstances will it be used for anything else apart from running the meeting. After racing has finished it "may" be used for something else. If it is then a) you better have a bloody good reason and b) you may have some upset racers if it breaks....

Aren't you too old for that :p

Are you going to the tunnel?

Thanks Steve for posting that news, I only hope it wont clash with any nitro dates as it's been me making the most noise about an all day event and it would seem a little rude not to turn up.
Keep us posted and i will try my hardest to spread the TORCH word.

Results are at www.torchracing.org.uk/results

I got the meeting back last night - better late than never

Oh and I'm going to ban any more B4s! If we get 10 2WD again the heats will be split...

Oh and another thing, if you look at the 2WD heat 1 results you all stopped at the warble. Next time keep bloody going until it says you've finished!

Well it was cold but dry to start. Were all a bit surprised at the low turnout. Decided to run as one heat with 2 and 4WD together which was fine as everyone there was quick enough to either keep up or know how to get out of the way.

Had rain and even a few flakes of snow later in the morning which made it a bit slippery especially for us in 2WD – decided to call it a day around 11.30 but that was after 4 or 5 rounds so still worth getting up for.

Despite weather, we hopefully have another member, Chris, who had a practice between the heats so will hopefully be back at a future meeting. Sorry Mike but it is another B4!

Roll on next week.

Rob

Hi,

Rob thanks for the update, main question for me is how did the system run after the previous weeks disappointment?

Good another member, so a warm welcome for him. I'll let you off the B4 thing as mine is getting changed to a Cougar SV :) (still keeping the B4). The B4 is a great car at our track.

Indeed about the numbers, so COME ON lads!

Tony is Jamie coming back if we were to do some posters I was wondering if he'd put them on the notice board at Uni?

I'm racing this weekend, all be it 4WD due to the 2WD now being motorless. 2WD does look like a great class at TORCH with some close racing. I've got the times for the previous week and Neil, Cameron and Rob are so close together.

Laptop and system seemed to perform fine.

I am very, very tempted by the Cougar but not sure if I'd go any faster after spending the £250. It just looks so cool!!! My B4 was fairly knackered when I bought it second-hand so I can probably convince myself that it needs replacing. I may wait and see how yours goes!

Go on treat yourself! :) - Judging by your times I'd stay put and then wait and see what the numbers are like during the spring / summer season. We have a great track that could bring a decent season this year.

You can't go wrong with a B4 and it won Petit 2010. B4 bits are very good value... Hence why I'm keeping mine. It's not worth enough for me to loose and I may not like the Cougar SV.
