I tried google, to no real luck, and this forum won't let you search for 3 character words(SRT etc) so I have no clue where to look. My local parts shops don't have much available and this diff just doesn't have any life left in it. I'd be ecstatic to find something a bit newer, maybe Revo spec with metal gears  but I'm not keeping my fingers crossed. If anyone can confirm a swappable setup, it would be most appreciated. I hate to just see her sitting around like my Hawk 2 :(
Still readily available from Traxxas - i replaced both my TRX 1 & TCP last year. Quite expensive mind.

Wow! 100 bucks?? It's great to know they still sell them but damn! Thanks for the legwork man!
Does anyone know of an upgraded unit? Something I could put a decent amount of power into? If I'm going to spend 1-150 USD on a diff....
Tbh the Traxxas ball diff is pretty tough anyway, and is in some of the Traxxas Nitro buggy range and various other Traxxas electric buggies - so will certainly handle a fair amount of abuse. It certainly takes 6.5 brushless & Lipo no problem with a metal layshaft gear.
Thats for the whole diff assembly mind you, you can still buy most of it seperately if you search for the part numbers on that tech sheet i linked you to....
If you look around you can still find lots of new Traxxas parts for buggies like the TRX1, 3 , SRT etc etc in shops. The newer moulded ones will be black, the older ones white. And theres still a fair amount of interchangeability between old and new Traxxas buggies. Its just takes a hour or two on the internet and a couple more cross-referencing part numbers.
Not quite sure where get the 100-150 bucks from for a ball diff set - its 50 Dollars from Tower and 45 Pounds from Modelsport ?
Good luck with the rebuild though :)

Haha, stupid mistake on my part, I was looking at the bulk prices like it was an Amazon.com order :P That's why I saw the 95.45 or whatever as the prices. I've been through the local shops and had next to no luck. I've found some parts that are interchangable(like the Ultimate shocks for the Slash), but I've been at a loss for most things. I probably wouldn't be so concerned with the output killing it but I've been through so many already(tho I'm sure most can be attributed to my lack of tuning knowledge 10 years ago) that I've been more than a bit hesitant to slap a 50-60,000 rpm setup on it. If they're still selling the parts tho, then it can't hurt too much to try.
I'll also have to start searching the parts lists for some of the Hawk 2 items I need, since it seems like more is interchangable than I though. Thanks a ton man!
