Has anyone tried the new dual block tyres (http://www.tamiyausa.com/search.php?q=dual+block) yet?

Ordered some C compound ones to try them on hard clay outdoor track when the weather allows it.

I have a new set of front a rear Dual Block (C) tires that are ready to go for my next race. I race on a hard dirt outdoor track and expect that they will do pretty good.

Previously I have been racing with J-Concepts Double Dees and Panther Raptors (sometimes barcodes on the front).

I'll let you know how they compare the next time I get to the track.

Great thanks!
Was quite surprised when i switched to offroad to see how small tamiya's offer on offroad tyres is.

looks like it should be a good tyre, its very similar to the panther bobcat/switch

Edit: Lol what was i thinking, it doesnt look anything like the bobcat, but it does resemble the switch tread pattern

Received mine last saturday wanted to glue them on to try on sunday but my glue had glued itself.
Bought some glue on monday and tried them yesterday evening.

Huge difference in grip on clay compared to the standard pin tires. Went great for a few rounds untill my rear diff ran loose and i had to tighten it.
Think i might have overtightened it a bit as my 4wd started to act more like a 2wd. The front diff was quite loose but it was getting late so didn't feel like tightening it to see if that would eliminate the rear breaking out.

Hope it'll be dry here on sunday!

Also proline hole shots underway for a good comparison.

i tried them out the other week, the fronts are a good tyres, the rears arent bad either, just the competition compound could be a bit softer still, but on a grippy clay track they would work quite well

They did work quite well untill my diff ran loose. But as soon as it got dark the track got a bit damp which eliminated some grip.

They are a bit bigger then the kit tires. My guess would be for more damping on landings.

if tamiya ever discover theres compounds softer than what they have on offer and put that tyre out in a compound the same as losi red, they'd have a winner

I've got both K and C compound of the high density spike tires but to be honest on the touch there isn't much difference.
