some second hand B4 shocks are probably the best bet. They are a direct fit.
but any second hand buggy shocks will probably fit ok and be a great improvement over the kit items.

Yup..The X Pro shocks are outstanding... Front Shocks (http://www.fusionhobbies.com/Ansmann-Racing-Front-Shock-Set-p/ar125000486.htm) and Rear Shocks (http://www.fusionhobbies.com/Ansmann-Racing-Rear-Shock-Set-p/ar125000487.htm)
Fusion also supply them without Springs I think for £19.99 each

the 19.99 price only includes shock bodies..nowt else
Best going for the complete set 125000487 & 12500486 for the extra few quid

Indeed...the links in my orig post point to the full sets :)... however..if someone has sets of appropriate springs they could save a couple of quid by getting just the £20 versions :)
I have also found these HPI shocks (REARS (http://www.southwatercycles.com/products.php?plid=m38b213s418p14371), FRONTS (http://www.southwatercycles.com/products.php?plid=m38b213s418p14370)) that might fit...no idea if they will for sure, but I've ordered up a set to test as they look excellent. They are twice as exspensive as the the Ansmann shocks and a little bigger but they should still work...

The shocks on what guys call the prox are great. Easier to build that AE, smooth as Kyosho, last as long as Losi. Really great design for the car (or truck).
