the adjustment of moving the link higher or lower adjusts "camber gain".

-if the arm and upper link are perfectly parallel, the wheel will stay fix on camber through its entire cycle
- if the inner link is lower than parallel, the wheel will gain negative camber as the suspension cycles (negative camber gain)
- if the inner link is higher than parallel, the wheel will gain positive camber as the suspension cycles (positive camber gain)

more rear negative camber gain will free the rear of your car up in a corner, because less outside tire is touching the ground, much like fixed camber does, but only effects the car in the corners or suspension compression - the opposite is true with positive camber gain

hope this answers it?
