Hi all,
Quick question..
I recently (well last year got my Cougar 2 Works out for a clean up and to check it was still running after its retiredment from my local club some years ago :))
All works fine, except after getting it out again last night after another few months of sitting on the shelf I remembered that after the last strip down the gearbox has a slight high pitched twitter when running flat out on a straight that comes and goes.
Nothing too bad, but still enough to bug me. After a quick google lastnight I found 1 post back from 1995 that someone mentions that it may be due to the belt tension on the box.
I don't believe it's the slipper slipping and all bearings are running smoothly so to me it must be either the belt or the motor itself (which I doubt)
Any thoughts?
If it is the belt my question is do you guys think this noise would mean it was too tight or too loose? I'll have a look inside of it tonight, but as far as I remember it was all tensioned ok and it's not slipping.
Cheers,
