so stoked - just got a slash today off the 'bay. It's looks great- 4mm turnbuckles, rose joints, telescoping driveshafts with real spicer u-joints.... very impressed so far. Rather dubious centre of gravity - but hey - body roll looks awesome...
Shame not so many people run them over here, but I'm totally looking forward to having a go in SC class racing soon... This weekend at Stotfold perhaps??
Who else runs slashes? Happy with your truck?
Cheers,
Ty

Cool - are you going to bring the truck to EPR soon?
Unfort I can't make the Easter race - out of the UK that week - but can't wait to take it around and join in the SC mayhem!

I maintain on loose surfaces the slash is one of the most fun RCs I’ve ever had.
Bar electronics, the only changes made to mine; thicker diff oil, putting some electric tape on the underside of the gearbox housing (where to two sides join) to prevent dirt getting in, and sticking Traxxas foam washers on the body posts to stop the body rattling.

Cool! What gearing do people run for racing?
I bought it as a roller, and haven't even torn it open to find out which spur is in there - though I could easily find out as the seller did include the other stock one with the package....
It did not, however, come with a pinion - so I've put an order in with DMS today for an 18 and a 20 to start with.
I'll almost certainly be running a mild "Eraser" LRP 9.5 brushless in it. (it's really not that aggressive of a motor, despite the low wind...)
Cheers,
Ty

I think the stock spur is an 86 and you get a 19 and 23+ something with the truck,so your in the right ballpark.I use a 10.5 in my Slash,it``s just right for 1/10 tracks[19 pinion],but needs a bit more for 1/5 scale tracks even with higher gearing,no overheat problems and 20 minute runs on 4800 lipo :D
A 9.5Turn BL motor should be perfect.
I have raced, thrashed and bashed my truck for over 6 months and only broken one plastic rear hub [about £1.60 iirc] no cracks in the shell and still looking good.
They will take some very serious abuse, here is one on a 4 cell lipo setup

also put a slice chassie on it to stop boddie roll and shocks shumacher 40 wait all round, 2 hole pistons front and 1 hole pistons rear
this helps on the handeling
