Ok guys and girls we are thinking of opening a new permanent indoor track.

The unit we have in mind is over 10.000 sqf with all the usual facilities.
Our plan is to build a permanent buggy track. using astro turf and various other surfaces. At this point we are trying to get some idea of the numbers of people that would attend our club. the location would be Chelford village Cheshire.

To be held on Saturdays and Sundays only.

It takes me about 30 mins from Manchester. located about 20 mins from the m6, junc 19 knutsford

Thanks and please let me know what everyone thinks

Rob

Shame you couldn't do midweek nights? Be perfect then.

I'd defo do Saturdays were I was not working, Sundays I'll be at southport or reginals etc.

Sounds really good! You could do NW regionals as there are only 4 tracks in the NW, it could mean 2 or 3 regionals could be held at your track a year, potentially even a national

Unless its your own unit on your own land, then it will more than likely need to be open and hold race meetings during the week to meet the bills:(

I'd be very interested if it was mid-week, but Saturday's are out when racing Sunday's elsewhere.

Some advice make sure you know what the rateable value of the buiding is (council tax ect) as this could be a big problem.

is rated comercial or leasure.

Thanks for all the reply s so far. Mid week is racing is a possibility but it all depends on my landlord. he is really laid back and as it does not affect the main house it may not be an issue. I'm only testing the water at the moment. i have a meeting this morning with him to go over the finer points. As to the track we would go for flashy with a bit of ghetto thrown in.

It all depends on numbers through the door. if people will come then we will build it. but the out lay if huge to start it up. so that's why i need to know how many are interested. as i say if we can do at least 1 night midweek that might be of more interest to others.

Thanks i will keep you posted

the building is a private non commercial use building on the farmers land. it would stay as leisure use only.

but thanks for the heads up.

Ok people it's bad news I'm afraid.

After my meeting this morning with my landlord he explained that the unit is ear marked for demolition next month.

Thought it was to good to be true. I will keep looking.

Thanks Rob

Ok guys we might be back in business. I have found a few locations i will be viewing next week one is near Salford and the other in Oldham. I'm trying to find some thing that has easy access to from the motorway m60. We are looking into a 5000sqf unit with a track based around an outdoor track to include dirt astro turf cobbles etc etc

What i need from every one is a head count i need to know if people will attend this club ?

we are looking at 2 nights in the week and a sunday.
price between £6 and £10 depending on what other clubs are charging. What we would like to stress is that this is going to be something different as in the type of surface and the size. I'm talking big jumps long straights and wall rides nice mid sections. all in all a kick ass track. We will look into seeing if we can get some team drivers involved in the layouts.
Will keep you all posted. fingers crossed.

Hmmm Salford and Oldham!!! Not quite so gentile as mid Cheshire. I'd better remove the hubcaps from my buggy. Joking apart, a solid track mid-week near a motorway sounds ideal.

i agree not the best of locations. I have been looking at other units in trafford park buy the rent and rates are way to hi for us. The units in Salford and Oldham are 5000 sqf and they are still in the region of £1000 per month exc rates and over heads etc etc.

So come on people tell your mates and tell them to tell their mates ;)

Keep it coming

Thanks
