i think you have gotten a little confused here....or maybe i have?

TTech Racing (team xtreme now) make the Predator 4wd buggy, not carbon shock towers as replacements for TRF items.

Thankyou for the reply but if you look trf501x up on ebay you'll find these items listed along with other alloy mods for the 501.

I am sure you will, but I am also sure T.Tech Racing don't make 'em.

T.Tech Racing and Tech Racing are different companies - Tech Racing appear to be Japanese and T.Tech Racing are (were) a British company, that now belongs to another British Company, xtreme-rc.

Tech Racing is a Japanese company that make add on parts for a lot of RC cars and also designed the TRF415 and TRF501X for tamiya. The do make a few parts for the 501 , shock towers and shocker caps etc

Chris i think you've got confused lol..

Dont know were you got ttech from..!?!? i've not seen it in the post.
Only Tech racing which as you say is a japanese parts company.

I've got some parts on the snorer from Tech and the qualitys pretty good. As to weather the towers they do for the 501x are any better than kit i dunno. If they're thicker then they'll probably last longer.

Tech Racing do the proto parts for the TRF cars, and is of good quality.

DOPE!!!!!! :wtf:

OK I admit, I was wrong I blame the whiskey that I was testing last night :D :D :D :D :D

Actually, it's Jimmy's fault. The tamiya forum is WAY to close to the T.Tech section.
That's it, I'll blame somebody else.

lol

yeah the Tech racing towers are thicker. I am just testing out some new towers from Atomic Carbon which are 4 - 4.5 mm thick beastly things. :)

Im running a set of Tech racing fronts on my 501 and they seem to be holding up fine, saying that I never broke a standard tower!!

They are considerably thicker than the stock towers so should be more durable.

If you race on a track like bury metro or southport then you are gonna break a tower at some point! On grass tracks and moere forgiving types it'll probably be ok.. but at this moment I've got a hand made tower on the front screwed together with a badly cracked original one.. and the rear tower is cracked also.

I can at least replace them now with real towers ! yay.

Tbh the Tamiya ones are quite strong, iv whacked my Trf way to many times :eh?: lol. Im actually racing with cracked front and rear towers as we speak. The Cf is very thick and will take serious abuse. The crack lines appear to not have gone through all the layers of cf, so will carry on using until they fully go.

The ones you mention on ebay are quite expensive from memory. Id only replace if you have problems with the genuine Tamiya ones.
