Seems my Iron is on the way out, or at least the tip is. i'm currently using one of them yellow trick bit jobbys but the tip is nearing the end of its life.

Any one know where i can get a replacement tip from, or if they are not made now, a new iron reccomendation? i'm looking for something good reliable and not too expensive!

cheers.

I use the following soldering iron and everyone loves it. I am always being asked if someone can borrow my iron for all sort of diffrent jobs.

Ace soldering iron large tip and powerful iron for cells and you can get a set of tips which includes a small tip that is ideal for reciever wires and other thin wires.

Trickbits iron is a generic jobbie re-branded... think they come from antex.

Maplins sell 'em and the full range of bits. If you can find an iron clad bit they will alst longer than a standard one.

Both me and Russ have that iron. Will solder cells no probs.

If you need to use one at southport, let me know.

I'd recommend you use a bigger iron for cells and or V2 motors
