This year we decided to make an 'official' oOple area for talking about the BRCA 10th off road nationals - to make it easier for people to find information and find an archive of threads about the event from years gone by.
Feel free to post chat about Oswestry National 2010 in here!

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=108596214585185592856.000484621aa6834419510&ll=52.864259,-3.044071&spn=0.076274,0.222988&t=h&z=13

A little information about the weekend..

The track will again be located on the grass bank as per previous years.

There will be butlers butties food van onsite all weekend so grub will be easily to get hold of.

Camping and caravaning is avaliable. There will be a charge for caravans which is still to be confirmed.

Lets pray for sunshine and it will be a cracking weekend.

And you think that England will still be in the tournement by the weekend?:woot:

Jonesy
22-06-2010, 02:45 PM
As Ash as mentioned (and spilt the beans) we are hoping to arrange for the football to be shown at Oz however it would depend on Englands progress of course. Winning the group (yes it is still possible) would result in England playing on the Saturday night so it would be a fairly good atmosphere if we watch the game! nd in the group means England play on the Sunday afternoon, if that's the case we will still have the game on but the racing would get in the way!

There will be some games for all to play also so listen up at Drivers Briefing and Scruteneering!

Weather is still looking good at the min so fingers crossed it should be a good one!

So any predictions for the event?? Winners, TQs, Special Performances???

If he gets in to the meeting I will go for Bish to do well in 4wd, outside chance of the Top 10 maybe??

Hi Matt,

To the best of knowledge there is nothing else on this weekend. Last year there was the Football Club Presentation (or was that the year before??) so the bar was open and this year there should have been a circus but they have cancelled

Got ours sorted... Two laptops, one for the F1 using the Tv card and the other online for the match and prematch buildup.

Just need to acquire a third from work to setup on the commentary position to watch on spilt screen to keep a watchful eye on both.

Hi Guys

Just want to say thank you to everyone for coming to oz this year. The weather was wonderful and things seem to go reasonably smoothly.

Also big thanks as usual to Charlie, Stuart, John for timekeeping, reffin etc and ofcourse to Paul Worlsey for doing some work behind the scenes to make sure all the equipment was delivered and everyone knew what they where doing.

Before anyone says it im sure we will put some entertainment on next year.

Also could Ashton Armstrong Please drop me a PM if he is on oOple or someone that knows him if not.

Also while tidying up there was a box found with some wheels and tyres and some other quipment in. Ive got a good idea who's it is but if anyone has lost it please drop me a PM and we can arrange to get it back to you.

Hope Everyone got home safe.

Also Rich Lowe totally mortified for you mate. I had great pleasure smashing the remains of that gazebo up this afternoon. Hope you get it sorted.

Back in work safe and sound after the week-end.

Thanks to everyone who made it happen. First time at Oz and it was a good experience.

We had to leave early on Sunday for the ferry home, so didn't get to see the third leg of the A, can anyone let me know what happened.

Luck was with us for the ferry, we thought the ferry left at 9.30, with check-in from 8.30. So we rocked up about 7.45, got our ticket. Told then it was a 8.30 sailing, so straight into the que to go on to the boat. 5 mins later the gates would have been closed and we would have had to wait for the next sailing at 2.30 am!!

Pidge

Bradders
Tommy C
Danny

Col May

Kev Lee
Phil Sleigh

2wd not sure :

Tommy C

Pidge
Grant
Ellis
Yardy
Nathan Waters
Phil Sleigh
Danny
I cant remember the last person - sorry!

Great track at Os, in my opinion the best one yet. Only issue really was when the track was brushed just before the first leg of the A in 2wd, grip was virtually zero!

Glad you guys decided to leave the track alone and not change it for 4wd. Nothing worse than running part of the track on new grass and others on worn.

Good skills to all at Oswestry, and glad the Man Mountain that is Jones is on the mend!

We had a touch of freaky weather a "tornado of big gust of wind" where a few tents and gazebo's where lifted up. unfortunatly one took off and landed on top of Rich's very nice R32 causing alot of damage. Another one took off and hit Steve Pierce's Leon not causing as much damage but still very anoying. As far as im aware they where all pegged down well. Infact one of the gazebo's had two people hanging on to it and it still lifted off.

Really enjoyed racing on Sunday. Awesome weather and the track was great also.

A bit frustrated that there doesnt seem to be a National supporting model shop other than tyre shops these days, im sure that its nothing to do with the clubs running the events but somebody could make a fortune surely??
