This year we decided to make an 'official' oOple area for talking about the BRCA 10th off road nationals - to make it easier for people to find information and find an archive of threads about the event from years gone by.
Feel free to post chat about Eden Park National 2010 in here!

Any meetings there before the national Matt?

There is a 2WD Regional and open meeting two weeks before the National race. Of course the National layouts wont be in use but some of the notable features will be included.

How big is the reserve list for 2WD?

Paul Worsley will have to answer that one I am afraid!

When we had the list update sent out on Monday, there were 5 reserves in 2wd, and 10 in 4wd.

Which weekend DC - or both?

Actually, with a big push for getting the track, etc ready for the National on the Bank Holiday weekend and the meeting the following week, does that mean its four weekends?

New corner being laid today!

Still lots to do in not very much time, two Saturdays and then the BIG PUSH on the Bank Holiday weekend.
Opportunities for practice will be around the workparty's and the 2WD SE Regional on Sunday 23 May.

Anyone wishing to try and gain an entry to the National can put their names down on the reserve list via Paul Worsley.

I have heard that the list for the EPR is not that long so this is your opportunity to compete at a National event.
Bear in mind its first come first served, so get in touch with Paul to have the best chance!

We are pleased to announce that EPR will have a raffle at the national that will include a range of cool prizes generously donated by ADH Publishing, CML Distribution, Horizon Hobby, MK Racing and Schumacher.

The draw will take place on Sunday before the finals with tickets being sold all day Saturday and Sunday morning.

We hope that the prize fund will increase as the event draws closer, but we are very appreciative of the support we have received so far.

Just to make the few aware that may use the Blackwall Tunnel that they are carrying out work in the northbound tunnel over the weekend of the eden *ark National.

This shouldnt have much effect as it is only the one tunnel closed overnight from 4-7 June from 9pm to 5am.If anyone needs more info, go to www.tfl.gov.uk/blackwalltunnelrefurbishment

Leaving work at about 4ish hopefully...so should get me to the M4/M25 junction at about 5:30/6pm...which will be perfect timing !!!

Might take the M3 alternative to cut a bit of it out, but even that will be busy at that time. Don't have too much choice today though unfortunately, so windows down, tunes on, and relax til whenever I get there I reckon!

What about you Griff?

Many many thanks to all that have had kind words to say about the event. Lots of hard work and effort went in from many helpers in the lead up to the event and I will make sure that the EPR team pic is e-mailed out to all of you.

From a personal point of view, I would like to thank everyone who helped out in scrutineering and assisting in the running of the meeting. Without this support, we would never be able to consider hosting an event of this stature.

For sure we were lucky with the weather on Sunday although it was nice being a little cooler than the intense sun and high temperature on Saturday.

All comments, positive and constructive are welcomed in order that we can try and improve the venue and general event for the future. And please, don't say anything about moving the track away from the car park that is the M25...

Yes superb weekend!! We missed our ferry back to belgium so the trip took us a bit longer, but it was all worth it :)

Too many people to thank, but still here are a few:
Andy G, for the power supply, and also to him and his surrounding pit buueiiitches for some new fine english vocabulary.
MrO for being the nicest man in the world :) Try the new chubbie inserts they are just perfect!
Paul Worsley for everything.
All of the EPR crew, was great to see how well organized the whole meeting was.
My personal pit bitch elvo :)
Everyone elso who came over for a little chat!
All of the race commentators for the no nonsense race updates during qualifying. This helps so much, to know how good/bad you're doing, how many time is left, etc...
And also big thanks to the referee, what a superb job he did all weekend!!! He sees everything, and warns everyone just in time, and people also listen to him :) Must be one of the hardest jobs to stand there all day long watching at every heat and final!

See you next weekend at RHR

A MASSIVE THANKS to all that helped get the track ready and for the help that was given from all the ERP crew. Also thanks to the BRCA for running a slick meeting, even if we were 30 seconds behind at the end of Saturday:)
Thanks to my fellow commentators, you guys did a great job:thumbsup:
Oh and thanks to Stuart W for trying to learn me the English language hehe

Big thanks to everyone involved !

I had a great time at EPR, even if driving up from Paris overnight meant I was absolutely knackered on saturday, I still did better than last year, go figure !

It was great to see all of you guys, it reminded me how much I miss racing in the UK!

Hopefully I'll see many of you at the oOple race!

Also many thanks to Craig Collinson for making the B final on his debut with my car, on a track he isn't at ease to say the least. And also to Niggs for lending me his brand new SX2 for the leg ends race on sunday !

first of all big thanks to the EPR crew for looking after me and the rest of the team.

Good standard of driving from the majority and only a couple of incidents to note.

as always i try to see the driver concerned before awarding the penalty and explain why i feel it is required or why i am not going to give one, in one incident there was some contact between Tom C and Lee M, this contact i felt was accidental, but as a result Tom C was pushed into the track barrier nose first, with the train of cars coming tom's only option was to pop over the barrier and wait, which he did and then continue, now technically thats a corner cut and would normally get some form of penalty. however i felt in this case that for him to try and straighten up and rejoin could have caused even more mayhem for the following drivers, he had self penalised himself and rejoined just in front of the third place man, i was content that he had penalised himself sufficiently and had not gained any advantage, so no penalty and i discussed this with Tom at the end of the race.

second incident involved two drivers one ran into the back of the other on a corner ended up in front waited but then decided to go and finish in front, not too difficult a decision for me and both drivers were happy with the end result. which was a 5 second penalty and a change in position.

i have had a request from a driver to try and help out those drivers in the lower positions in a heat with getting through and i am aware that i could do more for those drivers, so at Oz i will be attempting to do just that.

as always i am available during a meeting to discuss any issues you have.

john
