For those that don't know me, I race summers only at the min, mainly cos I have a little girl and a HTFC season ticket. So a few weeks back I got my new ZX5, built it, sprayed it, banged the electrics in, but due to Mothers Day etc etc etc I still haven't even got to run it yet.
But here it is in all it's glory before I smash it up!!
Cheers
Andy Grason
p.s. Ignore the sheee-ite old wing. Jimmy's spraying my new one after I had a crisis painting the shell :elephant:
p.p.s. Yes that's a brushless system, and yes it's an LRP Sphere Comp :P
p.p.p.s. Yes those are TR32's on the back...changing from Losi to AE to Kyosho season on season isn't a bright idea in terms of wheels and tyres :P :P

Looks ace, you should have fun with your sphere comp, what star rating motor is that?
have a good play with your gearing, I think thats they key to brushless fun, hit the right gearing and it suddenly takes off!!!
I love the paint scheme too, very sharp!

I don't race winters as I have a Huddersfield Town season ticket, and being away for that and racing would be a bit much with a 2 year oild girl and a busy job.
Come summer though the gloves are off. Don't forget I started racing in about '87 at the Hare and Hounds :P
Yes it's a 4 star. It was a bundle from the US, but I've also got some Nosram 2 and 3 stars coming.
I'll maybe pop by tomorrow Jim @ Batley, many thanks for spraying the wing.
I'm hoping to give the ZX5 it's first run next weekend.

Now then Mr. Grason.
Looks like it will be a bit slow if you ask me. I've just ordered the BJ worlds conversion and the 4.5 Novak brushless, so I should be passing you on a straight real soon.....

you're having a laugh saying that. LRP > Novak

Lrp > Novak ??? What does that mean ?
We'll let the racing decide which is best :)
(Knowing my luck the Novak will all overheat like the last one did !)

Well, The LRP Sphere gets pretty hot too. It's a reverse world with BL motors : the motor remains cool, and the ESC gets HOT instead of a hot motor and a cool ESC with brushed technologie.
My experience so far with the LRP Sphere + Vector (3-star) is that it's very linear and smooth with lots of power and speed. This sunday, there was also a guy using the Novak 5.5 system. He complained all the time about stuttering and a turbo lag effect. I'm not making a judgment here, just stating my (limited) experiences with BL systems on the track.
