I received one of these sets today and will try it out soon.
Seems a bargain to me at 59 quid for a full 2.4ghz system though

I know this is an old thread, but I've only just bought one of these Acoms 2.4Ghz radios. I'm using it in a Hot Bodies Cyclone S spec sedan. So far it has worked perfectly. The plastic does feel a bit on the cheap side and the programming and manual leave a lot to be desired, but considering the price these are minor complaints. The micro 3-channel receiver is brilliant and I like the built-in antenna tube holder. So far my impression is positive and this system makes a great entry into the 2.4Ghz world.

use a seperate antenna holder as they break off and take the receiver top with it.

I've been using my Acoms radio and so far it's worked flawlessly. No glitches, no broken bits and when racing I never even give it a second thought. Very comfortable and a bargain.

I have just got one for Xmas and it does feel plasticy cheap but it works spot on ! Haven't raced with it yet but had a play in the street and feels nice ! Recommend for 60 notes.

depends where you use them at our off road club they have been failing all the time, mine failed first time out and three others members who got them had thers fail as well, most of the problems are down to the recievers being to fragile and not robust enough although one had his transmitter play up and the range is poor but they are cheap

not sure if anyone still watching this thread, new here so hi, but i have recently bought a savage xl which came with the technisport in it and the range is really poor, sometimes 30 metres, has anyone had this problem and managed to solve it.

I've used this radio before, and in my opinion the wheel is so highly sprung it's hard to drive. Could just be that I'm used to a different controller, of course.

Neverrtheless, my brother has been running this setup for some time and loves it. No problems whatsoever.

Cheers,
Ty

thanks for the quick reply, i know of a few people that use them all the time and have no trouble, maybe mines just a duff one, i have changed the receiver and it made no difference, really frustrating tho

IMHO this is the budget 2.4 setup to watch out for... I'm very tempted!

i havent with that one, but you can get a spektrum dx3e for £75 which is a bit basic but good quality. i bought one and sold it again as i thought i had fixed my acoms and also the receiver that came with it was a bit big for my reciever/battery box. it has analogue trim adjustments.

the acoms technisport is also sold as another name but cant remember what it is

I would pay a bit extra and get the spectrum for £75.00 but if you want stick core do a 2.4 sticks for £99.00 see schumacher website

bit of an update on my original question, i have disconnected the reverse mixer/module and the range is much better so i have either a fault with the mixer or my battery is not powerful enough, it either that or there isnt enough power to run the receiver and the mixer causing the failsafe to kick in
