Message from Mat

We still have a few caravan spaces available. All booking information is in the info Pack. People cannot just turn up on the Friday with a caravan without booking in; otherwise we will have to turn them away.
Email hsinclair1@tiscali.co.uk (hsinclair1@tiscali.co.uk) for further details
I will be on the gate checking the names I have on the list

Please include a copy of your caravan insurance certificate and an email address so I can let you know that payment has been received.

Thanks Mat.

Yes you did Paul, may have been on MSN but I remember.

Yesterday evening, mum said "wow, look how heavy the rain is", so I went to the window and it was only raining on the left of the house. So I sat down again. A few minutes later I had another look - still exactly the same, then it just stopped while I was stood there.

My dads Fiesta had a wet bonnet and windscreen, bone dry from sunroof back! The shed was soaked, but conservatory bone dry.

Bizarre.

So I predict for Southport, rain on the concrete, hail on the straight, sun on the tarmac and a sandstorm on the back. :D

well i got the phone call to say that i was in for 4wd on sunday, so looking forward to that. Should be interesting to learn another new track. Definatly learnt a lot from Bury about that :p Hopefully the weather will be fine for the meeting. Will there be any shops trackside? As need some wheels and tyres (depending on which car i choose)

Just an update on Southport National
Track looking in very good condition
Park is still soft, so take care
No generators will be allowed along the fence that separates the park and the Croquet Club (They also have got a National Meeting on) so this area will be reserved for anyone using 12volt batteries only.
Caravans will be sited as near to the exit gate as possible (a committee member will be in attendance to show where)
Only pre-booked caravans will be allowed in.
DC Racing will be attendance for all your spares & tyres.

Portaloo thingies will be there from Friday. There are toilets and a sink in the club house. There is an outdoor tap for fresh water....

Gates open around 4pm, but there will be plenty of people milling around setting up on Friday from 12noon onwards, who might let you on earlier if you ask nicely. :eh?:

As well as the canteen, the track is in walking distance of all the facilities of the town centre....

Morrisons super market at the town end of the park...
Chineese resturant in the middle of the park...
Pub at the birkdale end of the park, plus pub, offy, lateshops, etc just a short walk down Weld Road at Birkdale station.

Ive just read in the BRCA handbook and it says the following.

rule 16.3
A substitute marshall is allowed, providing that the substitute is a BRCA member, that they fulfil the marshalling duties adequatly and that a Race Control Officer has given permission. The driver will be subject to any penalties incurred by their substitute marshal.

Lucky git! Ive had ingrowing toe nails since school and a few years ago got really cheesed off with it, had the nail off at the hospital but they didn't let me have anti-biotics - and it got infected and took ages to heal properly. It'll never grow back now. But I can vouch from experience that beer does help, cold beer, but don't drink it after you have had your manky feet in it. :D :D :D

the back section will be used to full effect on sunday.

as for local knowledge, it's easier if you can drive the straight line through it, by keeping near the kerb closest to the infield on the first section.

well, so i have been told. Personally i never manage to get the same line twice in a day, let alone on consecutive laps!
