Ok so a lot of the time we moan about marshalling, but who stands out to be the best marshall?

Mine would have to be Robin Lucas, he has a sixth sense for cars crashing;)

that's cos he's so used to doing it himself

cheeky git...

Cheers Lee, I do try and marshal well, or at least how i'd want to be marshalled. Shame my 6th sense doesn't work when I'm driving the bloody things...

I reckon Doddy's pretty good too, he's very quick to flip the car over if it's roofed.

my vote is for Ken, who used to race at York.

he was as agile as a cat!!

We could make this more controversial by asking who the worst marshall is?

Lee

that probably would be more fun:D

At the last regional (york) during the A final bradders and rich lowe were having a good race, bradders clipped a corner and put it on its roof, the marshall got there nice and quick and flipped the car over superbly but, as bradders drove away his aerial was under the marshalls foot, GAME OVER
Not sure who the marshall was but that is just one of those things

Tony Parr gets my vote, for not even bothering to marshall at the Oswestry national, lol!!

'hey Tony, aren't you meant to be marshalling now?'

'oooooooo shit'!!

never seen him move so fast!!!!:D

dave spashett... end of.

to extrapolate...

was racing at the carpet masters series (I think, could've been the indoor nationals... 2000/2001 anyway) and was on for an A final time, when Spash ran out to marshal a stranded car. succeeded in ripping up a full strip of carpet, and 4 cars (including mine) disappeared underneath... I was rather miffed at the time, but now :D   :D :D :D

Rob, remember when me and Doddy got banned from the club for having a wine gum fight whilst we were supposed to be marshalling?

I guess that puts us down as shocking marshalls!

Tricky was pretty ace at Osfest - last leg of the 2WD A, Brian even mentioned he looked like he was so desperate to marshall a car, he pretty much covered half the track to get one in the end! so funny!

Joe Cockill is the best marshall, he is able to loose a shoe, roll down the downslope of a tabletop jump and get up before any cars reach him. :D

Northy

Best Marshall - my rabbit, he's ace, he'll shag anything! :D

My vote goes to Andy Fraser. he's always posed like he's about to start a 100m sprint. Always shows committment, and proves that we should all marshall in the way we expect to be marshalled.

For worst marshall some of the kids who race at my club get my vote. There is one poor fella who isnt too well endowed in the grey matter department has a tendency to set cars on the track backwards.

You are a good marshall Shane. The worst, Rob Marks he moves like he's in slow mo (if he moves at all) and then picks the car up as though it's made of paper.

The worst marshall ive ever seen was at oz fest 07 lol. I clipped the pipe and ended up on my roof as he went to pic my car up another car ran into my car and his hand. He then sort of stand back up straight and spends the next 30 seconds shaking his hand in pain. I can understand it must o hurt but come on. At oswestry regional i was stung by nettles while marshalling a car i didnt spend the next 30 seconds shaking my hand about.

Another good question is who is a good ref at regionals???

My vote gots to tom yardy he reffed my heat and he was so good at spotting everything that was going on and he was good at asking people to let faster cars though i was never stuck behind a car. And he even put up with me talking shit. lol

The rule is though generators and loud music tv's etc off at 11 it was 12 o clock and you did not need that telly on that loud i was very tired and i could hear it from my caravan and i wasnt having it going on for much longer. And chris you cant take the piss out of any thing ive done as your the only person who got stuck at the weekend trying to get out. And if you would have thought about which direction you where goign in it was proberly a good idea to not try and go up a bank. Im not having another arguement with you.

ash when you can drive a big car then perhaps i might!! take your advice until then wind your neck it:D
i went out that way for 2 reasons

1. it was by far the driest least boggy part of the field.

2. my caravan was facing that way all weekend, nobody in there right mind without a 4x4 would try and do a 3 point turn to be able to go over the concrete bit.
