Tom Cockerill driving the Schumacher Cougar SV took the win at the second round of the 2010 BRCA 10th off road national series - the first national victory for the new car.

Robin Schumacher - Tom Cockerill - Phil Booth

Tom shared qualifying bragging rights equally with Tamiya's Lee Martin, with both drivers taking two of the four rounds. Toms faster time put him on pole however and Tom took the win in the opening two legs to secure victory.

Lee Martin took the third leg and finished 2nd overall with Danny McGee driving for Losi third with his XXXCR2 mid motor car.

We'll have a full report on oOple soon!

Nice one Tom!

Can report that two out of three Cougars made it to the A-main in Sweden's first outdoor race for the season and straight out off the box they took first and third place!!! On slippery gravel that is. Good start:thumbsup:

Well done to Tom, and well done to Lee again too - Would anyone have believed it 2-3 years ago that Schumacher and Tamiya are winning the 2wd Nationals????

How cool does that sound :-)

Just wanted to know, any idea who it was and when was the last time a Schumacher 2wd Car won a national??

I'm thinking it could have been Mossy or Barton with the 'Blade... but not 100% sure on 2wd..... maybe it was even before that??

I couldnt remember yesterday when the last time was. Dont think Rich ever won one and ive only won 2wd nationals with the B4. Won a few legs of the A with the blade but never a full meeting.

I wonder if Paul Worsley has that statistic?

I wouldn't be suprised if it was Pre RC10-B2 and Losi-XX days!

Surely it doesn't go back to the Cougar does it? What about Sloppy, Karl Marsden? I seem to remember Karl going well at the old Worksop with the Blade! If not i'm guessing it goes back to the early 90's with the Cougar 95 then?

If you count indoor finals - then it would be 'slop, but i have no idea what year. He won it at worksop indoor one year i think - with what was virtually a box stock car from what i remember!!

For full outdoor nationals, not sure.

I think Karl Marsden just missed out on a win finishing 2nd with a Fireblade at a national in 96/97. It was on a grass track on a hot weekend, track lost all of it's grass quite quickly and became quite rutted.

I remember Karl and whomever won the meeting were nose to tail for every leg. Karl used his silky smooth driving style to drag every last bit of speed from the car. Karl had/has a very unique driving style and was very impressive to watch, it looked like he was taking a Sunday drive however the laps were always super fast and ridiculously consistent.

Jamie Booth was also driving a schumacher cat at the same meeting.

Paul.

I remember Karl winning a national at Broxtowe a good few years ago - think that was 2wd (but could be wrong)...
