I was thinking... maybe at the last National of this year, maybe after the 2wd finals… get as many racers as possible to race at the same time!
As many different crystals as we can, Spectrum users etc... thought it would be well funny, might be able to get like 50 odd cars running at once, also it would make great video footage!
Yup deffo silly, but maybe very funny and entertaining?

Oh my god that is genius, what a great idea hahhaa
You should have a proper Motocross style line start though, can you imagine the carnage? Would be cool to see who gets the holeshot though....
Only thing - where would everyone stand?? You'll do well to find a big enough rostrum haha, unless you use a bank or something (depending where the track is)??
Just thought of that as you'd be best having the start coming towards the rostrum so you can at least see your own car, and obviously it would need to be an area off the track that's really wide, and then gradually narrows.
That would be cool video footage
Love it bathy, that's awesome

That would make a great video, first corner would be fun :D.
I really would pitty the marshals though.

25-07-2007, 02:58 PM
can you really see the officials letting 50odd cars on the track at once especially as the tracks closed at night so no advantage is gained, even though i doubt you'd be able to use the racing line:D

u have to marshall your own car as well, just to make it utter mayhem!
ashleyb4
25-07-2007, 03:00 PM
Well if you crashed in the middle of the track just imagine a pack of about 20 cars going into the section of track where you have crashed i dont think there would be much left to marshall. because not everyone will be able to avoid your stranded car.

I can see this causing some arguments at some point but i think it is an awesome idea, even if the cars started at different points around the track....

If they don't allow it there, we'll do it at Lee's i'm sure ;-) He'll love the idea hahaha, I just love the thought of a full on flat out motocross start into a hairpin - would be so cool to film too

25-07-2007, 04:53 PM
I think rather than the hairpins the jumps would be one of the most fun bits at least to watch anyway. Deffinately need to have quite a few camera's mounted around the track I think.

WHICH ONE THERE'S SEVERN!!
Maybe we coudl have like a fun race meeting where we race like normal but drive in mad ways like for example have a round where you drive with your feet. A round where you have to switch your setting round so when you turn right it goes left and when you turn lef tit goes right. A roundwhere you have to race with no wing or something etc.

How about at approx 2.5 minutes a bell is rung, and all cars have to change direction where they are. :p
ashleyb4
25-07-2007, 07:28 PM
Or every 5 laps you have to turn around and go the other way as if it was 2.5 minutes everyone would still be going in the same direction

You would be for ever losing your car southwell :D
your crazy, hope the damage is going on your card, it would be good, but im skint and cant buy a new car! ill watch, maybe marshall to get a front row seat of the carnage. i thought about this at the supercup at batley, but everyone was like, i dont wanna break my car, i cant believe so many want to do it, i got the impession it was stupid and no one would do it as too much damage would happen

We should have done that at Oswestry, we had that longest rostrum! I agree with Andy, if you crash and cant recover you should be out..

At our local club years ago we did this, but didn't tell one lad (he was a tit), and, well, his car broke lots.
I remember one of us shouting 2 minutes in 'ALL CHANGE'.....:D

Yeah, you could make it a 'last car standing' style race.
you just keep racing untill there is only one car left!!
Cool.

Cool.
Royal Rumble for RC cars!
Destruction Derby styleeeeeee:
As many cars race at the same time as possible, single start line. All cars go at same time. No marshalls and when you roll (or rammed at just the right time), you're out! All crashed cars remain on the track and last car running wins:)
last car running wins:)
No, it must be the car with the most laps. Otherwise, just park your car on a safe corner at the start, wait for the others to crash, then win :o
Fantastic idea. I have to import it :D
Guys - can I point you in the direction of http://www.bmbscc.piczo.com/?cr=6&rfm=y where 20+ car heats and finals are the norm, not to mention 30+ car destruction derbies.......

I think we could do this at Batley indoors with the big wide carpets we have for the straight and the upper floor viewing deck thingy would have plenty of room for everyone to drive from :)
We could have a third of the track area for the main straight, motocross style starts with 20 cars per heat (can the AMB tell the difference between different colour transponders of the same number?)

(can the AMB tell the difference between different colour transponders of the same number?)
I was thinking about this myself, I think they are different, also you can include any drivers who own PT's, however I wonder if the computer system could cope with 20+ cars?
It was only an idea for some 'fun', a one-off thing and you'd have to expect the worst for your car, if you didn't want to break your car then I would say don't take part.
Also I'm sure this idea would break all the current health and safety rules so maybe it could only ever happen at a private track... I kinda think it may never happen, but it would be a laugh if it did. Maybe if it was to raise money for a charity (or oOple?) then it could be considered?
Following on from a thread on "Racechat", how about running a "SuperMoto" style event? Buggy's on a TC circuit - mass starts, slick/worn buggy tyres, minimum ride height of say 20mm, no TC tyres or "treaded" tyres.
Cars would undoubtedly be stupid fast, but would also be going sideways a hell of a lot........
As for the computer coping - the Banger club I linked to above seems to have no problems. It gets easier the more people that run PT's, but I've raced in 30 car races and that's in a confined oval!!

Think you could also throw in some big jumps (wooden) or maybe depending on the TC track have a run off on to the Grass section with some rough stuff to keep it interesting? (Just like proper super moto)!

which did you control carl, How many times did matty shout at ya :D
...No, it must be the car with the most laps...
Valid point. When a pre-determined number of cars are left running, the race is over and most laps wins... Also there must be some sort of rules set-up to determine what type of damage you can continue with... ie is a snapped wishbone considered terminal enough damage to put you out of the race if the car is still mobile?
can the AMB tell the difference between different colour transponders of the same number?
I don't know too much about the transponder set-up, but the computer does know the difference in colours, so in theory you should be able to run 10 red and 10 black. I have also seen green somewhere so wonder if they could go on too...
Rich, Batley would be perfect for this type of race
Chrislong
28-07-2007, 06:20 PM
There are 4 colours to the transponders. Yellow, red, Green and Black. Plus those of us with PT's... wow, thats a lot!! Can the software handle it? It may be able to handle it as a timed unlimited practice session, I guess too many boundaries set for it to be created as a race.
ashleyb4
28-07-2007, 06:24 PM
Yea but it doesnt matter with which colour you have transponder the numbers are still the same. A red 1 and green 1 are the same so they will both count as car one.

That's true Ash, but only because that's the way it's set-up to run as there is never two No1 cars in the same race, but as it is able to tell the difference in coulurs it should be able to assign the two No1's to two people. I could be entirely wrong though
Chrislong
28-07-2007, 07:06 PM
No Col, you are dead right. You can assign #1 to be #10! The handouts are still basically coded transponders like PT's but self powered. Its just the software is setup to recognise the number assigned to it.
Chrislong
28-07-2007, 07:07 PM
What Ash said is right, if we were to use an AMB20 loop, those old black PT's are basically numbers 1 to 10.
The new AMBrc equipment is what the red cased transponders are, and what are tagged in the four colours.
