I will start club racing this summer(db-01 durga) i already have a pretty good nimh charger(novak milinemum pro) and was wondering i should get NIMH and save some money or bite the bullet and buy new charger and lipos?

Do i have even have the slightest chance in a race with NIMH?

On others day i will be using the car for practice and bashing

to be onist its pointless buying nimhs now, everywhere is starting to not stock them no more, and for the cost of lipos they are cheaper than nimh if from hk, as with racing should always get the best you can aford really, but the turnigy lipos from hobbyking are a good lipo esp for the price, they come in about 15 quid for 5000 mah hardcase.

Also you can race with only one LIPO and keep recharging it where as you will need more than one NIMH pack as its not a good idea to charge them when they are hot.

depending on how long you races are a 5000 would be enough to power a car in mod class for 2 5 min races easy without charging

Lipos all the way! I bought 2nd hand ni-mh's last summer when I got back into racing, but it was a very false economy! Get a couple of cheaper lipo's either from Hk or maybe Jespares at the top of the forum are doing Trakpower lipo's for £29.99 each. Two of those and a balance charger and you're away.
