hi,

is anyone sealing their carbon fibre with ca glue?

if so if there a better method than putting the glue on a cotton bud?

thanks :D

I read a guide online once that Atsushi Hara made about the HB Cclone TC car.

He used to get some CA activator, spray a load onto a paper towel, wipe all the chassis edges wih it then dribble a bead of CA straight from the tip of the bottle down the chassis and let it flow around the chassis edges.

You can do it without the need for the activator too..just dribble a small amount starting from the top and work the chassis around as the CA flows around.

Tis easy if you have patience :)

I got some thin CA, muchmore I think but any brand will do as long as its really thin. Hold the chassis vertical and as soon as you apply the CA to the chassis, gravity will make the CA dribble along, and just turn the chassis around to go right around. When it runs out, put another drop in to do the whole chassis. Ended up being alot easier than I thought it was.

yeah have seen a video on youtube about lightly sanding the edge before applying the glue.

might give it a try ;) thanks

I didn't bother sealing it, it's well protected by the undertray and the shock towers are consumable items!

I've used a small piece of sponge and put the glue on there before running it round the edges. No danger of accidentally running too much glue down parts of the chassis you didn't want to seal!

Just make sure you don't hold the part of the sponge where the glue is!
