Wasn't that from an event recently where they had a 20 minute open class? I think there's actually two Lipo packs in there for duration and they had tire changes

Awesome, there will be no need for Nitro soon (sorry Nitro people) but imagine being able to do 45 min finals with a 1/8th Buggy powered by electric? All the benefits of tank like build quality, but no worries about clutches, brakes and dangerous fuel etc (although i've heard bad stories about LiPo too but i'm sure they'll be sorted soon)!

I can say for sure ('cause I was at the ROAR nats and saw it) that those blue things are two LiPo battery packs wired in parallel. They were running two packs for two reasons: First, to make sure they didn't dump over the 20 minute race, as a single battery they were running would last ~15 minutes. Second, for weight. The LiPo packs are so much lighter than regular NiMH batteries, they really changed the way the car/truck handled. Two 3200 MaH LiPo batteries from Orion weigh a combined 13.2 oz (http://www.teamorion.com/Products/Batteries/Li-Po), which is fairly close to a six cell NiMH pack, at around 14 oz.

This is fromthe online report
In the Li-Po/Brushless Truck demonstration class, Team Associated driver Ryan Maifield drove a flawless race with his Factory Team T4 equipped with an LRP Sphere Competition ’07, LRP Vector X-11 6.5, and LRP Li-Po battery and brought home the title by over 2 laps in the 20-minute main event.
20 minute mains :-) thats almost as long as in nitro. But without the smell ans the noice.
