Day two of the oOple race took place Saturday the 12th June 2010 and was the main day of qualifying for both 2WD and 4WD racers. Paul Bradby sat at the top of 2WD and Lee Martin was dominating 4WD in fine style. Things kicked off after the racing had finished for the day - a BEER race, england football match, flaming-hoop jump and finishing with a disco in the main pitting tent. It went wild - sadly, so wild that we couldn't finish polishing the report and had to put things away before they got smashed up in fine style.

Sunday 13th sees the final round of qualifying followed by three-leg finals for all drivers - if they manage to make it to the track after tonights festivities. Awesome.

Report so far is online here:

With 4 DNF's and a very poor run I was destined for the H final so the 'official' racing didn't go well for me but it was still awsome .

A big thanks to everyone that made it happen  , If I'm at the next one I'm staying sober

I'll dig out the top 10\s when I find them (screwed up in my pocket I think - Johns exporting the html stuff on his own PC computer as I think he had problems at the track.

Nathan Waters dominated 4WD and Tom Cockerill dominated 2WD basically - both won the opening two legs of the A finals and sat out the third WET legs!

There was some really great moments at this event - too many to think of right now as my brain is fried. I think we were the last to leave the track tonight (some are staying over) and I don't think I heard a single bad word about the event, in fact, everyone seemed to love it. There are loads of things for us to go and think about for next year now - things we want to do better and build upon.
The weather at the end of today was a big shame but it made for some great laughs watching the B finalists - and even the odd A finalist, riding the slick concrete corner sideways during the race, when it wasn't even part of the track layout! haha.

Many thanks for coming to everyone of course, I really appreciate all the drivers that came and hope everyone had a good time - I think I need to go away and compile a list of people to thank so I don't miss anyone, but before I do that, just thanks to everyone that helped! And I think I'll start planning next years event now.

Any comments or suggestions on this years event / future events, please let us know by emailing me, jimmy (at oople dot com).

Well what a weekend  it was an ace weekend from start to finish. To all those who put the effort in to make the event a success a big thanks. I cant wait for next year. There was too many highlights to list but footey necking the pint of jd and coke was nuts. The ring of fire was funny and watching mark pukey dyson jump his b4 of the rostum roof was mental.
Roll on next year cheers oople for a class race meeting:thumbsup:

What can I say - awesome weekend! Thanks to all of the organisers and everyone that I met. Can't begin to say what a great time I had!

And I want to express a special thanks to everyone who helped out with the South Camden Community School radio racecars project (linky) (http://www.oople.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47903) with your very generous donations of cars and components.:thumbsup::thumbsup:Your contributions so far have really left me in awe. Nevertheless, the project kicks off next month so we can certainly still use any stuff that you find at home, especially basic tools (like ubiqutious tamiyatools and allenkeys) pancars or simple buggies. As promised I'll be sure to show you all some photos and videos of what the kids come up with in late July! :)

Again - thanks to everyone - awesome time!

Cheers,
Ty

Yep great weekend, track was mint and layout was very good.
Great work on everyones behalf.
I would have been up to help, but time is limited so I couldn't make any sessions. :(

How about for next year, we do it Reedy style?
Us F-H finalists will never get the chance to race against legends in the same heat, so it would be a good opportunity for us 'all-so-rans' to race against them.

?? :)

Reedy would be cool but as mentioned it means everyone has to race eachother at least once which results in more races so its tricky to fit it to a schedule, it may be possible though.. Personally i think the indoor players track lends itself better to reedy and this track to pretty much what we did this weekend :)
