Hi guys,
After reading through lots of posts i've decided the Slash is probably best for me, as I just want to have fun with it and doubt I will race it.

Now what I can't decide is do I get 2wd and put my choice of 10.5 brushless and speedo combo in or get the 4wd and live with the speedo and motor that come with it?

I will be running Lipos so from what I understand if I get the 4wd I'll need a voltage thingy so the lipos don't go too low?

So much has changed since I've been away:confused:

Thx in advance:)

Hi,i did all the same studying to which truck to buy to thrash and race,Iwould consider the following.
What brand of cars do your local shop sell in case you need spares.
Race pedigree if you want to race it,
Spares availability at race meetings,

I looked at losi, hpi, maverik, associated and i went for the sc10 as iv'e owned a t4 /b4 before and spares ar easily available and popular at race meetings so scrounging bits is easy.

2wd for playing as the batterys will last longer and good fun powersliding and easier to maintain. look at forums in the states and check out here , ive heard nothing bad about the sc10,hpi blitz iv'e heard diff outputs wear very quickly and losi munches diffs so choose well.

hope this helps in your decision..

get a SC10 and an 1/8 wheel conversion. Goes really well and you can always pick up good 2nd hand wheel/tyres from Rallycoss for about £10 a set and you can swap front to back as well

I think the ESC that is fitted to the Slash 4x4 has a lipo cut out, I should be able to tell you more soon as I know a man that has one on the way.

I enjoyed a quick blast in a Slash (2wd) despite it feeling terrible slow with the stock motor, on the plus side it seemed pretty darn robust to me!! With a 10.5 in it it will be a right hoot :)

Saying that I wouldn't swap my SC10 for one ;)

Well I went for the Slash 4x4 Ultimate!

Its plenty quick for bashing and should hold up well if I want to race as well.

The esc has low voltage cut off and the training mode is ideal if you want to let your newbie mates have a go:)

Overall I'm very impressed with it and its very easy to work on :thumbsup:
