will there be a 4wd heat, poss practice for the finals?:)

_sleigh_
13-08-2007, 08:05 PM
That's purely down to numbers. If there is enough to make up a heat, then YES. but if I get load of 4WD then I will have to restrict it on first come first served.

Phil,

If theres not quite enough for a 4wd heat, I could probably be persuaded to do both 4wd as well as my existing 2wd entry, so let me know!

Weather forecast for Sunday seems to be changing all the time, but atleast it's looks promising at the moment.

Metcheck shows a mostly cloudy day, but only a little rain early on. Not keen on the 15mph winds though, as Baggington isn't a very freindly place in the wind........

Hopefully we can have a dry weekend! The way this weather is going I don’t think any of the forecasters really know what’s going to happen :D

Whats the likelyness that it will be cancelled if its wet does the astro track drain well and does the pit area drain well.

A

_sleigh_
18-08-2007, 02:03 PM
Meeting wont get cancelled... :o

Track is pretty good at draining, and the club are very used to clearing standing water.

The astro is still very drivable when wet.

As for the pitting area, there is a massive car park that is all hard-standing, and the grass area is normally very good when it rains.

Forecast looks OK for tomorrow, although they're expecting a reasonable amount of rain overnight.

http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o86/tyreman/SP_A0038.jpg (http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o86/tyreman/SP_A0038.jpg)

It started raining as we were finishing about 2 hours ago, but the ground drains a little better than the astroturf track.

The gate will be open from 0730 so try not to get there before then please.

Great day, just a bit of a crappy end with the heavy rain coming down during the Finals.

Todays results and overall championships results will be posted on the regional site over the next couple of days. My main PC is disconnected while I paint the study...

Haha what a day –
I missed practice!
Round one broke a turnbuckle
Round two motor gave up
Round there was a good round
Round four motor wire came off motor!
I ended up in the bottom final and finished second but I did manage to get a 23 second lap!
The track was great and the meeting was run very well :D

I had a bad day, 1st round my servo FET wire broke, 2nd round was slow, third round was better but slow, fourth round my rear inboard ball stud broke. Q'd 8th in the E. Got up to 4th then my lower front shock fixing came out and I limped home. All car stopping incidents caused by heaving landings on the tripple :( I just cant do those things. We need to build one at Oswestry me thinks if I am ever to learn how to control my car in the air.

Thanks to the organisers for helping me through my xtal issues and thanks to J Kedge for lending me his 725.

Cheers all for another well run meeting. Track was great even if i couldn't go round it fast enough:D . Loved the ice skating in the final, not such a pleasant drive home in my pants!!(only joking, wet clothes as i wouldn't want to scare the lorry drivers)

but I did manage to get a 23 second lap!
:D
that would be the 1st lap on the final then as we started on the back straight .... cutting about 9 sec of the lap out ....

had a good day myself , car drove really well a probably the 1st time ive enjoyed racing my 2wd since ive had it .
thanks to pit Bitch Pidge though for making a few minor adjustments..:) .
well run meeting though and cant wait for F3,4,5's on there now !!!!!

Another good meeting. Track was a nice to drive just a shame that it was like a skateing rink for the finals. I managed to gain a couple of extra points over my Marston score for the championship which was the one round i wanted to drop but not really enough to make any real difference. Car was ok to drive but just got some more set up work to do to get it to do what i want as i could not keep up with wraggy on the tightish change of direction sections. If thats the track they use for the F3's then it is going to more than challenging and really looking forward to it and finally managed to get the tripple section sorted out.
