So this years dates for the Offroad series are;

October 17

November 21

December 12

January 16

February 13

March 13

These are now on SUNDAYS, not Saturday like previous years

Classes being run are 2wd and 4wd 1/10th buggies and 1/10th Short Course trucks (will be split to 2 and 4wd if enough entries)

Control tyres are minipins on the rears of the buggies and open tyres for the trucks (as long as they are 1/10th scale SC tyres, 3.0"x2.2")

We will be running on an extended track which will nearly fill the hall to give us the largest indoor track in the country!

Race fees will be 10 for all drivers with 5 refund for any driver who packs away on Sunday (race director's discretion will be applied)

Pre-booking can be done here http://www.rcracecontrol.com/?action=showseries&id=35

I think tyres are minipins on the rears of the buggies and open for the trucks, but will be confirmed by Rob asap.

Hang on with you going to university are you not going out and buying a whole new car for 6 races?

The SCT's ran last year with a 10.5 / 19 turn motor limit and they were fairly lairy with those in. Good luck with getting across the lino with anything hotter in them.

We have opened up the tyre rules this year though so hopefully they will be a bit easier to handle with the new breed of SCT tyres.

Can you edit the date at the top please ant as Doddy has done in his post? Just to save any confusement.

I'm gonna take the truck to uni with me, with a bigger track and better tyres 10.5 will be too tame, a lot of people are saying 7.5 or 8.5 is about right. If its open motors then I can still use my 6.5 but toned down

Mark, its always been open wheels, as long as they were short course ones

Lets just clarify it is open to any Short course wheel and short course tyre. So essentially it is any wheel that takes a 3.0" X 2.2" tyre.

No 1/8th wheel conversions.

Motor limit is 10.5 turn or 19 turn brushed.

Captain-Codpiece-The-2nd
21-08-2010, 11:29 AM
You don't need loads of tyres, the FT kit ones are what most of use are using. Plus there's loads of trucks this time. And if you don't come, I'll have to find a new nemesis, which would suck

I will simply backfist-slap you in the scrotum and watch you fall onto the carpet, only to get MArtins SC10 hit your face with the power of ten tigers (well a 3.5 anyway). Yes but take into account that we have at least 6 Sc10 guys who haven't booked in yet. Plus two who have booked in through other means. There was a lot of chat about people coming to ours on Sunday who haven't booked in yet.

But saying that this time last year we had same amount of people pre-booked and got twenty plus people through the door on the day. Broxtowe only had about 20 pre-booked last weekend and ended up with 64 on the day.

iv pre booked for this, and always do for Friday!..........i just cant remember what i had at the time i did it:woot:

You can't have pre-booked through rcracecontrol.com as you would be on the list, unless you have mistakenly booked in for the mardave national series at ardent. I am assuming you have booked in through the form that was on the site still from last year. If so then you will have to get yourself a time machine and avoid bumping into yourself from the past.

With regards to friday pre-booking you have pre-booked every week. Booking in closes on a Thursday night at 9:00pm so i have the time to put them into the computer. if you book in after that then I won't have chance to put them in the computer because I will be at work. and then leaving work to high-tale it down to the club.

Race meeting this Sunday. First time . Could you tell me please is there electricity (power Point) supplied or do we need 12v batteries. Are tables supplied. Can you booking on the day and confirm please that its controlled tyres for 2WD buggy. Thanks

Plenty of power availiable, bring an extension cable with if you have one. You will need to bring a table, a few of the school ones are availilble but in short supply. Yes you can book in on the day. Control tyres are Schumacher mini pins (Which as the new carpet hasn't arrived yet you will need ) We will also allow Schumacher staggered ribs on the front. I would stick to the mini pins though as they are what you need on the current carpet.

What is the timetable etc for Sunday (rd1 is Sunsay not stauay isn't it?), eg booking in/practice?

The Doctor

Doors open at 9am. 4 rounds of qualifying & 1 final for all.

Booking in from about 9.30am and racing starts from about 10-10.30am.

Depends on how long it takes us to put the track down and how many people turn up on the day.

Should be finished by about 4pm.

Run Jconcepts in first 2 rounds and bald kit rest of day, lap times around the same although kit tyres increased the grin factor:thumbsup:

Yeah, that's because you were constantly on your roof. Handling is always neutral when your wheels are in the air!

it seemed the way to get the best out of the std non FT tyre was to put addy on your tyres:thumbdown::woot::thumbsup:

I think racing gets under way for 10-10.30. I wouldn't turn up any later than 10 though just incase we're super organised and get the track laid out early :woot:.
