Has anyone had any experience of the Hobbywing XERUN 60A brushless sensored speed controller and the setting box ? Looking to get one for my new buggy - dont want to leave my Tekin rs in there too long as it might take root :)

Well in Micro we run them a lot, they are okay for the money. Some people ran them in SC10 as they were cheap, and were as quick as anything else out there. Didn't seem to be any reliability issues either, which is good!

Worse thing is getting them quickly, and warranty returns, but seeing as they cost next to nothing, you could always just buy another one if it blows up etc....

get the 120amp version not the 60amp version - you can always slow one down but you cant speed it up, if you know what I mean.

i have the 120amp hobbywing and the speed passion equivalent. the hobbywing is as good in every way, making the speed passion a bit expensive in my opinion.

Im running the 60amp in my touring car.
With the turbo enabled its very fast in 17.5 class, just as good as anything else.

If you are planning on using one with hotter motors the 120amp will be a safer bet.

Mine took about 10 days to get here from Hong kong.

Its also worth geting the programming unit.

I think this motor will work with both, however the 120amp might be a more sensible choice as 5700 is quite powerful (about 6 turns I think)

Been looking on eBay at the 120a version and around £90. Not THAT cheap then...

$90, thats £58 inc postage.

I should point out that I have never bought anything from the above seller, so dont take the link as a recommendation.

The 60amp is £44 posted which is good value if you are running a lower power motor.

Lowest i found a little while back was 85 quid all in for the 120 amp- the one you linked to above is actually an auction with 5 bidders atm, not a buy-it-now so it could end up selling for almost as much as if it was a buy-it-now.

Thats made me look a bit stupid :P
I thought I had clicked buy it now only.

£85 is probably just about worth the loss of Uk warranty and support, but only just.

A few weeks ago the 120amp was for sale as buy it now for under £70, maybe the sellers are running low on stock or have realised people will pay more....

Lol dont worry about it, i had to look twice too... Your right, they have been much lower than that before, I think its down to be able to buy one when the exchange rate is in our favour... or maybe your right and they now know when they are onto a good thing and have raised the cost... either way i would think 75-80 quid all in would be a good trade-off for the loss of a UK warrenty & convenience - then its effectively half price :)
