I have a soft spot for my 1982 Audi Coupe GT. Essentially an expensive version of the VW Scirocco, but I loved it—black with chocolate brown interior. I'd love to find another one.

My best all-around everyday car was my Windsor Blue '97 GTI VR6. Modded the hell out of it, and was fast as snot with the speed governor eliminated. Could haul a 32" TV around and move to a new house, and track day the next weekend. Did 135 mph for a stint out on a road trip once, then on the way back, went through a blizzard of white-out proportions. Handled both with equal comfort. Got great mileage and could run 14s at the dragstrip in stock form.

Stellar car. Wish they still made them like that here in the US.

Lexus Soarer GT Limited 4Ltr V8.

It had a lot of development items on it that still havent been released in newer models. It was a 92 model with a TV in the dash which had roughly a menue that youd find on a mobile phone and the screen was also a phone. Heated seats, memory seats and steer wheel. It had four types of gearbox options, one for speed, one for accelaration, one for torque and one for cruising.

I also liked it when i was overtaking on the A12 at 80 when a 911 flashed me to pull over and the kick down accelaration was rather good to the point that i was hitting 175 and the 911 was nowhere to be seen.

I had a mk2 golf with a 220bhp TT engine which was pretty cool, but being a conversion had it's little niggling problems.

http://i937.photobucket.com/albums/ad212/Dizzie20vt/9.jpg

http://i937.photobucket.com/albums/ad212/Dizzie20vt/IMG_2669.jpg

The engine install was a bit messy when I got it back from the company that did it so I learned more about mechanics and pulled it all out to tidy up

the mk4 tdi golf I have at the moment hasn't missed a beat in the 60k I have owned it. just driven 3000 miles to spain and back on holiday hehe

Not much done to it. coilies, 18" RS4's, anniversary head lights that's all :) It has old man grey interior though :(

My mini.. first car i got at 14. Bought it as a cat D write off but me and dad ended up putting a whole front end on it apart from bonnet. Side sills, rear panel.. was really smart!
Put it on 10" wheels, flyoff handbrake oh and a pool ball for a gear knob
Im sure nearly everyone will of had a mini at somepoint, so much fun!

Mine was my 3rd Austin Mini. An 850 originally, I had a hand built engine from Wood and Picket shoehorned in. With a Skimmed alloy and ported head, and lots of other mods with twin Weber 45's. 110bhp at the wheels with a dog box full of straight cut gears. It cornered like a knat on acid!!

With a 9000rpm redline it was an absolute screamer, until the day I dropped it into third and gunned it. With my 'boy racer' stereo on full hum I didn't realise that I was already doing 90mph! As the engine let go, the head came off with such force that it creased the bonnet. My 'world', along with my engine, came apart that fatefull day; I was gutted!!

Good God, suddenly I feel bloody old! LOL!!!

Sierra XR4x4. Fast, tons of grip, enough power, quiet, comfortable, and did I say fast? It could cover ground like almost nothing else I had before or since, because it was so secure and stable. 120k miles in four years...

Mine was an F reg Subaru Justy Van, me and that car went everywhere together, racing to, but the best bit was in the snow, flick on the 4wd, rear axle would come in, and it was fitted with an LSD, so was ace for 'fun'!!

Showing my age here but my best ever car was a Renault 12 tl, ok the looks weren't great but the ride was the so comfortable and it was very economical too...I liked them that much I've had 4 of them in the past, probably wouldn't find one now cos of their age.

I love Mini's, but they're crap really

My favourite car must by the Focus ST170 until it started giving me faults. If it wasn't for faults, and the tax going through the roof, id still have it. They're cheap now too, but finding a good one is like finding hen's teeth.

I love my current BMW Mini, if it was a little quicker it'd be better than the Focus.... its a 2002 Cooper.

This is a tough one, especially as i don't really know which i consider best, all were mad / fun / nice in their own ways but i suppose....

1998 M3 Evo was probably the best all rounder, it only had 36k miles and was absolutely immaculate, not one mark / ding or scratch!

http://i47.tinypic.com/opyejn.jpg

2nd was probably the Evo VI GSR

http://i48.tinypic.com/5ecrh3.jpg

Then it's a choice of any of the more modded / fun cars i had....

Pulsar GTI-R, 280bhp, 4-Pot Godspeed brakes, endless list....
http://i46.tinypic.com/14t95kx.jpg
http://i46.tinypic.com/8wcdqs.jpg
http://i45.tinypic.com/vztoqe.jpg

Renault 5 was fun, constantly went wrong and cost a fortune but with over 200bhp it would embarrass just about everything i ever tried against (i was 19 at the time so i'm allowed to say i went around racing people)

http://i46.tinypic.com/2yvtbwz.jpg
http://i46.tinypic.com/x2pjjl.jpg

83 gtv is definately a fwd car pal

No way is at a front wheel drive

i would google & get you a link to prove it but i need to go to work!
those GTV's (including the GTV6 mentioned) were all rear wheel drive
they even had the gearbox at the rear of the car (transaxle) to help with the weight distribution :)

i wouldn't use definitely if i was trying to tell somebody they were wrong about a car they actually owned unless i was definitely sure i was right :)

Almost the same car and that was front wheel drive - so i was assumming !!

83 gtv is definately a fwd car pal:confused:

Oh! Drifted out of roundabouts very well for front driver then!

Showtimes got it, the GTV, and GTV6 like this had the engine in the front, and the clutch/gearbox/diff under the back seats to give 50/50 weight distribution.

The Sprint was an entirely different and smaller model that was a coupe version of the Sud which, as you said, was fwd with a boxer 4 engine. Similar styling but differnet model, think 3 series vs 5 series.

Yep, built in the south by un-employed farm hands, which is why they tended to fall apart/rust.

The GTV6 was built in Milan, and only tended to rust on salted roads. I'll buy another one some day, after I move back to Australias...

No worries though pal! Easy mistake-a to make-a! :D

well, being the son of a wheeler dealer i have had some 50 odd cars in the 10 years i have been driving, and have many experiences

most suprising car was a 1985 honda civic 1.5 gti looked ugly, had rust in weird places but was uber cheap and went like stink, had a 12v efi engine and over 3000rpm was a hoot, (not mine below but just for the ugly refrence) mine was red with 13" steel wheels and Wheel Trims

http://www.torehaugen.com/assets/images/1985_Honda_Civic_15_GTI_2_600.jpg

car i miss the most has got to be my alfa, was nothing special, a silver 156 jtd was lowered remapped to 170bhp, had a great sounding 5 pot diesel and is still the best drivers car i have had to date (for day to day stuff that is)

http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l33/bonnerworld/Alfa/alfa1.jpg

but my favorite car, the most fun the the car i have had for all of the 10 years has to be my mk1 escort

Hey that's the same as my daily driver, but mine is blue. Same wheels and 5 pot though. Fantastic tool for the commute!

i have a saab 93 tit at the moment and would sell it in an instant to get another alfa, especially the later 20v ones, remapped to 200 ponys, (heads to autotrader website to have a look)

Certainly my most fondly remembered car is a 1990 Astra GTE 16V, Red top 20XE pre CAT, perhaps I remember through rose tinted glasses but it went like stink and did 40mpg+ at 80 something MPH. Also cool digital dash and the most comfy seats ever.

Took all my racing gear with ease as well as lots of camping gear for holidays and stuff.

My pride and joy i owned for 16 years, 2.0XE16v on SBD TP208TB's I owned from a year old :) I do miss the car... but dont miss the £££ spent on her!!! I still had a list of things to do when she went

Anyone with an XE, the throttle bodies sounded awesome and fuel economy improved for round town and motorway cruiseing, put your foot on the loud peddle though and it could sup!! lol!!

She never got used so decided to sell... its gone to a good home in Geordie land now :)

The Golf was the car I probably had the most fun in.. With a 1.8 16v fitted.
The Astra with a Courtney turbo conversion was really quick but it only lived a short life after it caught fire while doing 140 down the motorway  so didn't get chance to enjoy it..
The Cozzie has to be my favourate.. Stage 3, Big music... Awesome!! Just cost too much to run daily and after four years of fun I had to sell it to buy a house and the Nob that bought it killed it after 5 months
Civic is my current car and reminds me a lot of my old Mk1 Golf really good handling and pretty quick just doesn't breakdown

My 1989 Dodge Shelby Daytona was my favorite. My friends called it the "Silver Bullet" because at full boost it was silly fast and it stomped Corvettes, Mustangs, Camaros, Grand Nationals and Trans Ams when provoked. Just a 2.2 8v Intercooled Turbo, which produced about 275 HP and 300 torque with a few cheap tricks.... This car was fun and made many Jaws DROP  Old pics were scanned..

Also, my 1992 25th Anniversary Camaro Z28 Convertible (400hp with NOS) was fun but not like the Turbo Dodge.

As a kid my 205 GTi Dimma it just looked brilliant back in the day! Still my all time favorite was my TVR Griff 500, just the sound that V8 made and 340BHP in a car so light.

Thanks to 2 young kids my mint 205 Gti 1.9 limited edition is about as good as it gets these days!

MK3 Astra GSi which I put turbo engine in and 6 speed box, Hybrid turbo loads of power useless in the wet but funny.

my first car was a ren 5 gts (was shocking thinking back about it)

then got a fezzie mk3 1.6s
on my 19 birthday i got given a mk2 honda crx 1.6 16v.....and i was hooked.
over a few years i ended up owning 10 of them (a few at once to lol)

decided to do a project one with things i had learnt over that period. got a project crx....found out it was full of filler and pretty much worked non stop on it for 2 years (yes it was on the road at the time in all states....even when it was in about 15 colors!) i never got pulled.

built it myself, did the bodywork with a friend, built the engine, painted it, wetsanded it, learnt how to and them mapped the ecu myself on the road and on the dyno. was gutted to see it go, i never did finish it, the engine was making 210hp and 158lb/ft on the stock B series cams, would have made i reacon around 240+bhp (not bad for a 2 liter nasp engine i built on the floor in my garage!) got over 500 pics of everyhting in my photobucket album

was gutted to see it go, now in a crappy mk4 golf gti...the windows fall out at random intervals, eats coil packs and ignitor units, has even worse mpg than the crx and its not even got a mod on it or been remapped.

next car will be an accord type R me thinks lol

Love the RS4, just need to stop RC Racing and earn a few more pennies. Well if it was a case of quitting RC for one of these I'd do it today. Well I prob would have purchased one if I hadn't purchased my wife a new fiesta last year, which incidently is a very good little car..

If I was lucky to have one first thing I'd do.. Take it down to www.jkm.org.uk

Revo map, milltek and leave Jim working on it!

I was looking at a R36 Passat the other day as my current S40 T5 is shite. However they aren't cheap and it disappeared pretty much as soon as it was advertised. I also struggle to get 20+mpg pottering around. My mates S4 does better than that!

Best I've owned - Seat Leon Cupra with a few mods.

Worst - Renault, they are shite and fall apart. I had a Clio at Uni M reg and a 1997 2.0 16v coupe. Rapid when it worked.

Current car, S40 T5 250bhp+ with a shite gearbox. It felt pretty good on the test drive, but wish I had the manual now. Looked at trade in and it's lost 75% in 12 months... I wasn't impressed.

My mates V70 T6 is super nice and very quick. But it did cost him £50k. However I can think of plenty better cars to spend £50k on... RS4 like above, all be it used.
